The boy was a bit...put out, and Brann could recognize his expression easily. He appeared almost as if someone had asked him to give a tour of a forest, or perhaps to showcase a pile of rocks. "It is...all like this, master," he began tentatively, waving at the tall, narrow shacks behind h...

During the day, the rookeries were almost hospitable. The lighting was at least adequate...many of the catacombs of buildings cast around in disarray were empty with their occupants out working...and the occasional group of very, very close neighbors could be seen leaning out windows and over catwal...

"It is no difference," shrugged the shaman-like-person casually. "If it is bad meat...a rancid crop...a well that has gone stale...then it is poisoned, either by disease or otherwise, and almost two score have suffered from it. It is not impossible to see such effects from those struc...

Escaped from the plague hovel, Domino got her first somewhat clear vision of the swarthy creature that stood before her. With her eyes adjusted to the darkness, the twilight of the Rookery alleyway was perfectly adequate to make out the greys and shadows of the Amun Rah native before her, a man that...

"...T...ah... Wale . My name is Wale," offered the healer, dismissing his own name with a wave of his hand. He listened to H'saan as he spoke, nodding as if to confirm that he had been right. Indeed, the half-giant had come to learn of the illness... not the curios coins, like everyone els...

The shaman (if indeed he was such a thing) waited for H'saan to join him outside the building. There were a few gawking locals watching the events before the quarantined building with curiosity, and once H'saan emerged, they gawked at the large man with much of the same. They hardly seemed surprised...

"Well, of course he's legitimate . Longfellow is a franchised Master of the Lexigrapher's Guild, and Journeyer of the Ostler's Guild. I've never known him to default on any agreement, but that isn't the real concern, is it?" Returned Ulmandra, her gaze slipping over to the older man. "...
