Dragon Slayers' Disappointment

Several days back a fierce angry blue Dragon made its presence known at the (perhaps unfortunately named) Dragon's Barrel. It had a stand-off with those stalwart citizens and sometime sources for yours truly (They've remained mum on this one though.) Mabby and Jacob as well as a young priestess from the Abbey. While it didn't destroy the tavern, the beast did make off with Mabby's youngest grandson Timothy.

Witnesses say it planned to return in two days time. So naturally our strong (and admittedly overzealous) country lads rounded up a patrol of would-be Dragon Hunters. They have since watched the skies with vigilance. Mysteriously there has been no sign of the Dragon or of the young boy. Have our brave heroes scared it off? Was it just picking up a quick bite on a journey to farther isles?

Keep watching the Gazette for future developments.

Black Blight in the Abbey Gardens

Yes, my friends, it seems even those experts at the Abbey's famed Hall of Willow can be hit by an herbal disaster. Plants seem to be dying off there at a record rate with no explanation in sight. Rumor has it that not even Prayer has provided them with an excuse for the diseased state of the Herb gardens. one thing is certain: supplies will be much reduced for local healers this Winter.

Steward of Thorns Falls Ill

In what may or may not be an unrelated story, that somewhat starched patriarchal figure Father Michael of the Abbey's Hall of Thorns has fallen mysteriously ill. Rumor has it that he has not left his bed since the tenth of Samheen . His loyal assistant Felix is taking up the slack. We only wonder how long before the Abbott steps in and rewards the good Felix for his hard work.

Thieves?
Beware folks! Bree Fannybags reports that, for the second time in two weeks, someone has stolen a pie off her cooling rack while she was occupied out back with the laundry. We have our suspicions, but can confirm nothing about this dastardly deed. (Although, this reporter does wish that Ms. Fannybags would stick to her more traditional apple walnut recipe...)

Until next time, this is Buckleberry Pumpkinseed saying be safe...
and watch out for steaming dragon droppings!
