The dark knights guild(Forsl)

Post by BardicPup »

One of the oldest and largest buildings in Gulanadur, this school trains the warriors of the various houses. Their training is hard and brutal, sorting the weak from the strong. Passing this training requires skill and diplomacy, for intrigue and sinister plots are a part of daily life.

----------

Forsl stands before the impressive structure of the Dark Knights Guild and ponders the dream that brings him to this place of strength and might. He will definately be out of place within the guild hall, since none of his past experiences have led him to be a violent person, or even an agressive person. This dream definately is weighing heavily on his mind now since he is not preoccupied with the mundane tasks of his day. Forsl looks about for a priest, hoping that he won't have to go inside, but knowing that he most likely will have to. If no priest is to be seen, Forsl will take the plunge and head into the building.

--------

As he heads towards the entrance, since no priest seems to be outside, two guards push their halberds in his way. The left of them hissing a question at him.
"What is thy business here?" The right guard just looks him over and smirks.

------------

Forsl stands straighter and looks at the guard who spoke to him. "I am here to speak with priest of Anasati. I am in need of advice concerning an issue of importance." Forsl attempts to appear unbothered by the obvious distaste in the guards demeanor and tone of voice, and after the thugs from earlier today he figures it can not get much closer of a call than that was.

---------

The guard doesn't even blink, as he replies without any thought.
"A priest of Anasati, heh? What makes you think you'll find one here?"
His eyes narrow slightly and he lowers his voice a little, then speaks calmly:
"And if you ever repeat that sentence out loud again, my halberd will be cutting you in two."

----------

Forsl blanches at the implied threat and the preceived promise from the guard. Obviously he said the wrong thing to this man. Not knowing the reason for the error of his words, Forsl's mind races to find a solution that will get the results he desires and also not endanger his life anymore than it already has been today. As the words really begin to sink in Forsl feels a bit faint and an idea strikes him, it may not work but it's better than letting his mouth make any more blunders with this guard. Forsl, feeling completely well, swoons and falls to his knees, appearing to be near the point of fainting away directly before the gates to the dark knight's guild.

-------

The guard raises a brow, drops his halberd and keeps Forsl upright. "For Anasati's sake, kid. No need to keel over before any harm is done to you." The second guard pulls a cord and stands in the middle of the door.

---------

Forsl stands to his feet shakily, relying on the guard to assist somewhat. When he is standing upright he wipes his brow and gives the guard a nervous smile. "I'm sorry, I did not mean for that to happen. I am not feeling all that well and just need help." Forsl looks as pitiful as he is able to and waits patiently trying to recover what dignity he can in the meantime.

-------

Moments later, the door opens and a man steps outside. He's fully dressed in a morithril plate armor, with a shield on his back and a mace on his belt. He glances at the guard, that holds Forsl upright, then raises a brow. "What seems to be going on here?"

---------

Forsl disengages himself from the guard and stands upright, only wobbling a bit. "Sir," Forsl says with a shaky voice, "I am afriad that I am being a burden on these fine guards. I have been feeling a little ill all day, and was struch by a moment of faintness just a minute ago and collapesed. Would their be anyone here that could assist me with a problem that developed last night?"

----------

The man in the blackened armor gazes at Forsl, staring straight into his eyes, as he mutters some strange sounding words. He widens his eyes slightly, then motions Forsl to follow him. "Come with me, young man. Tell me what is on your mind."

---------

Forsl obediently follows the armored figure, knowing not what he was getting himself into. Forsl thought for a brief moment about how to begin and decided that the dream was the place to start. "I awoke last night from a horrible dream." Forsl pauses a moment, recalling how vivid his fear had been at that time. "That by itself is nothing of note and I would not have bothered you for such a minor occurrence. The dream itself filled me with a sense of dread but by the time I rose to begin my morning work, I had forgotten most of it. As I walked into the kitchen where I work, I spotted a sinister figure in the reflection of a pot and heard a clearly audible voice. I turned and saw nothing in the kitchen except for the normal cooks and helpers. This voice said to me, "You will do my bidding young one." As the day has wore on the dream and the voice continue to haunt my memories. Can you help me?"

--------

The priest nods slowly and takes a seat, in what seems to be some kind of waitingroom. "The sinister figure and the dream are connected then? What did it look like?" He calmly places his gauntlets on the table and takes off his cloak, revealing a golden chain with an onyx pendant. Forsl doesn't recall ever seeing the symbol before.

---------

Forsl sits opposite the man, trying not to stare openly at the pendant, having never seen one like it his mind was racing with curosity of what it represented. "All I can remember was the figure gave the appearance of being dark and sinister. I only saw it out of the corner of my eye and when I turned nothing was there. If not for the voice I would have played it off as being an overactive imagniation, but I know I heard a voice and clearly remember it's silibant whisper." Forsl tries to feel at ease but the topic at hand is keeping him on edge. He truly hopes this man can help him figure out what is going on, that is if anything really is.

--------

The warrior-priest sits back a little and nods. "I see what you mean. Do you recall any details of the dream?" He lifts a hand and slowly starts to play with the pendant.

----------

Forsl relaxes a bit as the warrior-priest reclines in his chair and tries to remember as much as he can about his dream from last night. After a moment he replies. "The most vivid part of the dream that remains in my mind is a sense of great fear and attraction. Even though I was terrified in the dream I was still drawn to something. There was a great unnatural darkness and I think I recall a figure beckoning to me, but that part is very vague. That's all that I can remember, I just wish I could understand what it all meant."

----------

The warrior priest listens calmly and nods, as he tells his tale. Once the young man stops he ponders for a few moments, then replies his question. "From the looks f it, someone or something in the realm of shadows, wants you to do his r her bidding. We'll have to find out which bidding and with deity has a hand in this."

---------

Forsl is visibly shaken at the words of the warrior priest. Dark bidding? Realm of shadows? What is happening? Just the other day Forsl was learning how to be a cook, and now things were getting stranger by the flicker. Forsl clears his throat and tries to compose himself. "How do we discover who is behind this and what they want me to do? I have never had anything like this ever happen to me before. Could you help?"

------

The priest rises and walks about the room. "How well do you recall what was in the dream? Would I be able to picture it, if I were to read your mind?"

------------

Forsl thinks before answering, trying to see what he could recall on his own. "I recall a series of vague images from the dream but I am unable to put them all together to form anything that makes sense to me. I think you would be able to get a clear picture of what the dream contained if you were to read my mind, I just can not piece it all together." Forsl is so relieved to find that the priest can help that he thinks nothing of having his mind read. Any other day such an invasion of his privacy would make him think twice about allowing anyone to do so.

-----------

"I will need to prepare myself for doing so, which may take a while. Could you return in the morning?" The priest states to Forsl. He stopped pacing and stares at him. "You must be real serious about this, to allow anyone access to your mind."

----------

"I will return in the morning," Forsl says with a forced smile. "I have nothing to loose and hopefully you will provide answers for me. Whom shall I ask for when I return?"

---------

Ask the guards to take you to Cyrinwhyr. If they give you trouble, tell them this: The same one that will strip your hide in the blink of an eye." He smirks and escorts Forsl to the door.

-----------

"Thank you for all of your help sir," Forsl says with an deep inclination of his head, "I must return to my work now but I will see you again in the morning." Forsl leaves the dark knights guild, relieved to be back among a familiar place, but knowing deep in his heart that he will gladly return in the morning to discover what is going on inside his head.
