But then, if I'm through with you, what am I to do in Trothgard? I've been noticing that a lot of world changing events are going to happen, somewhat reminiscent of the war, and I want in on that. So there's no need for the side thread anymore, I'm trailing the Homecoming a little after you guys to ask around if you still need a henchman, and if you don't need one, I'll offer my sword to Skaali.

That is the root of the situation. You are more than welcome to stay and fight, but it it no longer desirable for me to have "henchmen". I think that you will find that selling your sword in Trothgard has gotten a lot harder. Even if I wanted to hire you, I have nothing to pay you with.

Oh damn. I really wanted a dozen blades. Oh well, we'll make something out I hope. I'm sure there are at least a few black smiths left with decent sword making skills right? You people don't think business can be made here, but seriously it can. I'm trying to find out what and how I can do business.

Well now.
Seems I went down in a blaze of fire. Ok.
I still am unsure why you think this is impassable?
From my perspective, so we are clear why I acted the way I did.
Something like 3 years ago, or something like that, I was in a thread where the Ice Queen took me to the wall and showed me the "enemy" and me drifting a snow storm of death over them and killing them. Other than that I have received little to no information on who/ what the enemy is.
So I acted on the information I have at hand.
1. I cannot defeat the Brenna.
2. Skaali is my enemy, he cannot defeat the Brenna.
3. Skaali is more powerful than I, but he ran away.
4. The "ones-in-ice" I released, ran away.
5. My magic defeats me.
So, you say the thread is impassable but there was little to nothing I could do. Were we supposed to run away? To be quite honest I have been a nit lost since we arrived at the palace. After I released Braagi I could have just stood there for all I accomplished after that. I was given no information other than how easily tricked and weak I truly am / was. No one told me anything, no one helped us and then we are attacked by an enemy that all of those stronger than us fear.
If this was the way it was destined to go, you could have told us that we face an enemy that we cannot defeat.
So, why is this thread impassable again?
Crispy little Hex.

It's impassible for the exact same reason any other thread is impassible. There is a legitimate chance for character death in this thread. Its a dangerous situation for all of the characters, not just Hex.
To answer a thing or two about some of your other points.
1. The Brenna was explained very clearly. Defeating it is not an option with magic, but has anyone tried to simply smash the thing with rock or a hammer or with anything for that matter?
2. If you view Skaali as your enemy, perhaps you need to re-evaluate how you view him. Its true that he's an enemy to what was the status quo in Trothgard, but who punched him in the face? Did he attempt to kill you when you walked through the door? Has he ever done anything to stop you or to harm you?
3. Skaali said he was going to destroy the Brenna. Did you or anyone else volunteer to go with him to help? Or if not go with him, simply follow him to see where he went and what he was going to do?
4. The "Ones In Ice" have their own agenda, and their own part of the story to play. Just because you don't see what they're doing, doesn't mean they're not doing anything. Its the same thing as Skaali, he's off doing his thing, these beings are off doing theirs. If I tell you everything, doesn't that ruin some of the fun?
5. Your magic was susceptible to the Brenna. The Brenna is burning magic. Magic that is performed near or on it ignites it. I showed you that when you tried to "frost it over" while it was in your palm. Low level magic, low level reaction. High level magic, high level reaction. How about destroying the Brenna and trying your magic? How about throwing the thing away from you and trying your magic. How about throwing the thing into the midst of the White Ones and trying your magic on it?
Other Points...
Does the vision Hex saw some three years ago mean that this is that battle she foresaw? Does it mean that it will even come true just because she saw it? Was the vision perhaps a way to play on her desires and get her to move in a certain direction? Does it mean she was victorious?
Yes, running away is/was an option as well. You could have led the people away until you found out more about what you are facing. You could have tried to find Trothgard's portal before the temple collapsed. You could have gone to seek out the Oracles in the snow that Skaali used in Freehold, his old village. There was magic in the temple, why else would the Brenna have burned there? Did you try looking for secret doors, or use your magic to scry for things unseen?
You are complaining about a lack of information, but from where I sit you have very done very little to seek any information out. You asked about a library, when you knew good and well that Trothgard has very little in the way of books. Aesa da'Yrsa is still alive and you scoffed at the possibility that she might know something, or be able to help you in some way. She was part of the rulership of Trothgard for as long as the game has been in existence. Don't you think its possible she might have learned something about how do that before you got involved? The Oracles outside Freehold have STAGGERING amounts of information, and they've been completely ignored. The "Ones in Ice" could call to you from hundreds of miles away through cracks in the ice that contained them, but no one has bothered to find out if that communication works both ways. Have you tried to call to them? I even gave you all of their names!
On my end, I see a lot of opportunities that have gone by the wayside, and a lot of information that I've presented that has gone unused. It wasn't me that backed you into a corner, and I resent the implication that I have. I hope you can see a lot of alternatives now.

Hi,
To start I want to make it clear that what has irked me is the combination of my perception and the direction this has had on my character, not the story or the results of the story.
I must be clear, I really do not what Hex to die, that was never my intention.
So lets go through this. We can always back things up a step to straighten our course as it appears I was steering us with a broken compass.
On your points.
1. No, there was no other action taken.
2. Perhaps this is the greatest misunderstanding taking place here. I am a priestess of the Ice Queen, he seeks to end her reign on Trothgard. Am I confused in thinking this? If that is the case, then we should back all the way up to our encounter in the temple with him because that is the catalyst , or at least one of them. Really, I was under the assumption that he was the ENEMY. Like the main bad guy.
3. Well no because of 2.
4. It does ruin some of the fun, I just feel a little in the dark is all.
5. I thought I had left it in the temple, but really that is beside the fact at this point.
As for the other points,
I see your point here. Perhaps part of the problem here is with me and the fact that I think that you V. are the 6th mod who has worked worked me in Trothgard. In that time period the entire makeup of Trothgard has changed in fundamental ways, wood as an example. At first, there was no wood, then it was scarce and then there were trees...perhaps this explains why my weapon has an iron shaft.
Trust me, we have moved more since you took over than in the several years before that. That being said, I am not saying I have not become a tad impatient to see some resolve and perhaps I rushed things.
If everyone agrees, could we back track to our arrival in the village? perhaps we could all come in together then?
I do not want everyone, including myself killed because of some fundamental misunderstanding I had.
I do not think that will be fair to any player, you V. or the story.
I am sorry for this,
Hex.

May I butt in here?
This has gone on long enough. All of you in this thread know to take these issues into PM where it can be a conversation between two people instead of a whole community questioning a mod and putting him to the grill.
Having said that I must remark that Hex has been modded by Vanadius for over 2 years. To call in the old "I was modded by so many people and i'm the victim here" sits wrong with me.
I invite you to take this to PM and resolve this and if not the GD will make a judgement call.
Sincerely,
Maeve

Finally, a bit fun. Aight, dude, you mind putting in a very complete description of terrain on your next post? Like how dense is the village in people and building, are there any high elevations we could get to from the city easily, how dense are the woods you're talking about, and other stuff like that.

I have this sinking feeling that we're supposed to let that thing go while we skedaddle outta there. I think we should not kill anything anymore, as much as I want to. I think, we should just leave now.

Well that's gonna be hard cause IC wise my character is already dead set on killing that thing. He'll need some kind of realization device to steer him in the other direction. If ever we do get that other realization device, I already have a plan in mind. We'll just have to talk about that IC wise.

Too late, I'm dead. Ahahaha. Might as well get on working on my second character.
Relative to my death, I really have no problems with that. The only thing is that I have a feeling my death and kill was out of stupidity. I have a feeling that instead of actually dying a heroic death mine was a death of stupidity. Well, at least I didn't metagame. Sigh. So, if I was any of you, please, run.

Sorry about my lack of posting,
RL was getting in the way and I was not receiving email notification of some of the posts.
Moving on, I am back.
Reiker, good death. I hope that you decide to stay with Tazlure and make a new character.

Thanks you to all (H,L,R), it has been fun interacting with your characters, but I think it is time for E to head out on her own, and see what she can do by herself. I am pretty sure that our paths will cross again.
