Idris looked thrilled with the pair’s reception of her offer. It was a rare thing for her to be able to meet new and interesting people, and even rarer that she could be of help to them. The funeral had provided a unique although unwelcome opportunity for the young woman to venture out alone. She suspected that guards were not far off. They never were. But they were keeping a respectful and discrete distance, and that was good enough.

“An inn,” she echoed Alu’s words thoughtfully. “I believe the Lotus Blossom Inn is considered good. It’s right on the Gardens,” the young woman declared with a bit more confidence. A wave of the young woman’s hand indicated that the inn lay somewhere before them. “I have had tea there,” she added helpfully.

At the city gates, dehotee-clad guards stepped out, but upon seeing the little silver-haired lady in the white of mourning, they bowed respectfully and stepped back to let the trio inter the city. The morning light now revealed homes of plastered and brightly painted brickwork among lush vegetation. Their opulence and size declared the wealth of those who resided within. Quiet and as yet nearly deserted cobbled streets led the trio deeper into Cerleann.

Then, at Ashtallion’s enquiry about battle magery, Idris chuckled softly. “Why, Lustros, that is our land’s particular specialty! Indeed, it can be difficult to find a teacher in any other sort of magick,” she added, with the tone of one speaking from experience. “I shall enquire with Mage Falgan on the morrow,… and perhaps send word to the inn for you?” the young woman offered.

Idris spoke the name casually, but the name niggled at the back of Ashtallion’s mind. Although he could not place it, a small thrill of excitement ran up his spine.

A warm glow enveloped the adhiel as he regaded the Lady with an open smile, " Thankyou, Lady Idris. ", he paused for a moment, thinking over the strange but exciting sensation that ran up his spine. " Falgan. ", the name rolled about in his mind, " For some reason...though I do not know the name, it sends a shiver up my spine. ", he smiled again and shrugged the notion off, evidently not giving it a second thought.

" As for accomodation, the Lotus Blossom Inn sound perfectly suitable, and I like the name. ", he glanced to his Sister, " Wouldn't you agree Lustra? Almost as beautiful as yourself dear sibling. ", Ashtallion had to marvel at the beauty of the place around him, Cerleann was an wonderous as the fabled City had been out to be, if not more. Words could do it no justice, its grace and elegance signified everything that the Adiel people were in spirit. For some reason he had never been more proud to be Adhiel.

One thing he found strange, " I would not have thought Cerleann specialised in Battle magicks, such destructive forces are more common with other races, humans and dwaves.... our dark and distant kin in Gulanadur. Though I suppose I am a walking contradiction as I studied the profession with earnest. ", he gestured as though to dismiss the question, " However I am most pleased to hear those words, I study Battle Sorcery as I had feared dark times were pressing in upon us swiftly. Here though, I pray we are far from such matters... "

"Most Agreeable brother" Alu nodded to Asht

"Then it is settled, Lustros, I am going to look for more permanent lodgings for our stay in Kislovan. If you look for a mage, please let him know he is going to have two prospective pupils - both of us."

"I will meet you back at the Lotus Blossom tonight and we shall relax a little"

Alu took a few steps away. "Idris, it has been a pleasure, I feel hopefull that we will meet again, and if there is anything that Lustra Silverhair can do for you in the future - do not hesitate to ask. I mourn with you for the Caesar, and I trust you will find solace beyond your grief"

"Brother, Lustros, be carefull, I will see you tonight"

Idris was clearly delighted to be of help. The young woman’s sad eyes even lightened for the flicker to echo her smile.

“I am certain we shall meet again,” she declared with conviction born of youthful enthusiasm. “You really must meet my brother. He too is a scholar, of sorts.” Letting the cryptic remark hang, Idris turned solemn once more.

“I must hurry now to join the procession. I can meet it at Northbridge,” she explained, gesturing to the west toward the river. “Meeting the two of you has been a bright spot in an otherwise dark day.” The young woman smiled at the twins, her eyes lingering just slightly longer upon Ashtallion’s face. “I must go, but do fare well, Mistress Lustra, Master Lustros,” she bid them as she moved off along the cobbled street heading toward the river, leaving Alustariel and Ashtallion to continue into the Gardens District on their own.

"Oh, how absolutely gorgeous" Alu said with a smirk once Idris was out of ear shot "She's completely a-flutter with infatuation". Alustariel nudged her brother playfully with her staff.

"A good girl though, and I do so look forward to seeing her bright little self again sometime"

"Come brother, we should be on our way. Perhaps you can enquire about this Master Falgan. I on the otherhand will hunt for our new home - it may be naught but a manger beside an inn - but - well, I'll try to do better than that"

With that Alu whistled to herself and walked briskly out of the garden. Much was weighing on her mind now....

...who was this Idris....

He watched as Idris gracefully walked off, " She certainly is interesting, though not my type. ", he smiled, one that glittered keenly in his eyes, as though he had found something amusing. But the light in his eyes flickered and died in moments and he suppressed a long sigh. " I shall venture to the Palace tomorrow, sister, and enquire after Falgan there. This day is best spent aquainting ourselves with the City, the people and this.. Lotus Blossom Inn. "

Ashtallion made his way down the simple path through the gardens, quietly thinking to himself about everything that had happened. So much in a relatively short space of time. Never in his wildest dreams did he think his passed adventures would occur. Demons and dark wizards, interogations and battling royalty, conspiracy and being used as a puppet..... the latter of course inspired anger and frustration.... but still, the fact he was noticed enough to have been used.

Or perhaps, it was because he was so un-noticed that had forced the Puppet Masters hand. True he was nothing special, still in training, hardly a name to be recognised. At this, his hand grip tightly around the Pelegrim. That will change though, given time, I shall rise through the ranks of Power and then I will be the one pulling strings. Lords and Ladies will bow to me in respect and fear. It will all come, I shall make sure it does.

" Lustra.. ", he didn't want to risk using her real name, even when alone, " ....how far would you go to gain the Power we both crave? ", the question came from no where and would no doubt take her by surprise.

Alustariel cocked her eyebrow and smiled without looking at her brother when he stated Idris was not his cup of tea.

"That, I would have guessed" she said sneakily.

The silver-haired adhiel began to move off again when Ashtallion spoke again - this time of power.

Alu stopped in her steps and turned her face slowly to look at Ashtallion. She was not sure whether to be curious or fearfull of his question. Power was of course something they both desired - but where were her boundries, and where were his.

"I would go as far as is needed - though I will adhere to the boundries of common sense" she said this to show Asht that she was determined - but would not be reckless in her quest. She hoped these words would impart wisdom for them both as well.

This moment seemed to last forever for Alu - she realised that in the gap of years in which they had been apart - she had not learned yet how her brother had become. Asht wanted power, but did he want the same power as Alustariel. Either way, she would always love him - he was her brother, and she his sister.

Without a word, she blew him a kiss and continued on her way.

He let her gain a small distance on him, his eyes studying the back of his sisters' head, her silver hair flowing like molten quicksilver. " Yes...as far is needed... ", he smiled softly, stepping up a pace to catch up with her, " You took the words from my mouth my silver sister. ", he then fell silent, keeping stride with her as they wondered out of the gardens and towards the main City.

Can we proceed to the night "in" our room at the inn. Where Asht and Alu can confirm their story and fake history that they'll be serving up in kislovan.

((OOC: Allow me to set the scene. :D ))

Situated on the eastern bank of the Cerl and on the south side of the Gardens, the Lotus Blossom Inn is clearly in the ‘better’ part of the city. The off-white plastered building, decorated with a painted frieze in a floral motif and many flourishing vines, is marked by an elegant lacquered sign depicting a purple lotus blossom and its name in stylish Adhiel calligraphy. The double doors of the main entrance and many arched windows puncture the façade of the inn. A pair of dhoti-clad doormen hold open the double doors for those who come and go.

Beyond the double doors awaits the spacious common room, with its gleaming wood floor, off-white walls and high ceiling. The space is luxuriously decorated with bright woven rugs and wall hangings, and many sofas and chairs upholstered in purples and yellows. Lush plant life abounds, and white cane cages of little tropical song birds are strategically placed amongst the foliage to give the impression of a natural setting, the floral fragrances and sweet songs completing illusion.

Beyond is the central garden, surrounded by a covered portico. Tables and cushioned chairs welcome guests to enjoy beverages or meals. At the garden’s centre is a pool; home to water lilies and golden fish. The first, second and third floors look down into the central gardens from balconies that circumnavigate the open space, and accommodations range from simple rooms to sumptuous apartments.

The Lotus Blossom Inn caters to a range of Adhiel and Achadhiel patrons, from somewhat modest to quite outrageous means. When Alu and Asht appeared in the common room, the staff made them as welcome as even the most extravagant of their guests. A blond Adhiel man, wearing a yellow dhoti and a lavender shirt, showed them to a well-appointed third floor suite, with two bed chambers and bathing rooms, separated by a small sitting room. Handing the key to Ashtallion, the man bowed his way from the room, with assurances that a tug on the bell-pull would bring them immediate assistance, should they need or desire anything.

The sitting room was about twice as long as it was wide. Near the door sat two settees, upholstered in red and yellow, with a long, low, narrow table between them. Beyond them, a door to either side led to the bed chambers. At the far end of the room stood a small dining table and four chairs, and finally a pair of glass-paned doors leading out onto a balcony. Woven rugs of red, orange and yellow covered the hardwood floor under the settees and under the dining table, and filmy curtains in graduating shades of orange hung on the glass-paned doors. About the room sat various potted plants, and the walls were adorned with both paintings and weavings.

Alu immediatly reclined on one of the settees and let out a long, exhausted breath.

"Asht" she said abrubtly "I've been thinking, we're going to need to come up with a cover story for Lustra and Lustros - If we're going to settle here people may ask us questions"

"I was thinking we should pick somewhere far away - like the Western Kingdom - to be our place of origin. Due to it's increased xenophobia over the last month or so - it would not be to out of place for Lustra and Lustros to flee for their lives from World's Mouth. Our parents - lets call them Isthis and Khan -" the improvised words popped out of her mouth as if she had dwelt on those names for a good few burns at least " - we're tragically murdered as they slept by a suspected crazed zealot".

"One thing remains - how did we learn our magick craft - and how did we wind up at the portal in Cerleann - and it certainly can't have anything to do with The Citadel, The University - OR the Caesar!"

Alustariel promptly sat up, moved to the bell-pull with an impish smile and pulled down - Hard

Within burns the man in the dhoti was back "You called madam? Anything I can serve you with?" He quietly waited for the adhiel woman to make her wishes known.
