I'm new to the game (n00b-alert) and trying to read up on some of the history as well as recent events.
What's the current situation with the Temple of Pan? I tried searching for info on this but am hindered somewhat by the fact that the Tazlure Boards search engine won't search for words with 3 letters or less (like "Pan") :-D
Any help is greatly appreciated...

You probably want the wiki! If you haven't been directed to it already, of course. Apologies if I am being redundant. :)
Temple of Pan specifically, there are a couple of articles here, and here... which ought to give you links if you're looking for anything specific.
If you can't find what you need there, you could PM your mod with your questions? :) Mods are always happy to help out, and very rarely bite. (I promise.)
EDIT: Apologies, I can't get that link to work properly. I'm fairly sure it has something to do with the brackets... but anyway. Cut and paste should work for that one. ;)

Thanks - I've already read all the wiki material on Pan and his Temple. I was sort of looking for some more information. I'll PM one of the Citadel mods for the 411.

You could also check out some of the treads for a true-up-to-the-minute idea of what's going on with the temple - since you are in Citadel, that is fairly easy, as Aerin is in an active Pan's temple thread right now. Check it out here: http://www.tazlure.nl/board/viewtopic.php?t=16355

Looking at current threads is a good idea. For a brief overview of what's happened over the last few years of play:
In Samheen 1224 a Netheric book was brought into the Temple, resulting in it being overrun by giant insects and locked up. It was eventually cleansed by some friendly mages, but the Altar of Joy remained inactive and dead, as it still is, and most of the NPC Panlings were also dead.
Two (currently inactive) PCs, Fialessa Valenstri and Vanir Alfheim, became the new high priests of the temple, until Eilish (NPC) returned to take on her role around Jaym 1225.

Meridiuz wrote:things started to become quite busy at the temple. There seemed to be a continuous influx of new Panlings arriving from Aveas. Surprisingly enough, Eilish also returned to the temple and she took on her role as high priestess again. Soon after her arrival regular orgies were held at the temple, all arranged by Eilish who claimed that the orgies were the way to fix the Altar of Joy. When not involved in the orgies, she seemed to be rather tired and pale. The new influx of Panlings greedily joined in the orgies
