Princess of the Dragonflies (Jygust 30 Late ET)

Post by Uli Orange »

Roque at dark was almost a new city to Uli. It was a labyrinth which hid the many keys to Uli’s future and he explored it now with his hands optimistically reaching out for what his eyes couldn’t yet see. He had no desire to withdraw into a shell after his exile from Kislovan. On his journey to Roque, the voice of Pan had constantly reassured him and pushed him onwards. Now he was chasing a more permanent ecstasy and one that he would hopefully be able to share with all of Roque. Fortunately for Uli, all of his operations incorporated both short and long term pleasure into their planning. Tonight he was after a female friend to show him around Roque and she was certain to be an exciting one because he was going to find her among the ladies of the infamous pleasure boat, the Dragonfly. If his Kislovan charm and humor held strong here in Roque, hopefully Uli would be able to turn one of the women into his spy into the Dragonfly’s activities. With her help, Uli hoped to learn where the ships hallucinogenic drugs came from, which smugglers they used, and maybe even try to make off with a bit of their coin or product if the chance presented itself.

Uli sat a ways from the ramp connecting the Dragonfly to the dock. As he shifted his view back and forth between the ocean and the ramp, he slowly smoked on a hemp halfie. No possible employees had come out yet and his back was starting to ache from the manner in which he had been leaning against one of the dock’s posts. He was willing to wait a bit longer though and no one seemed to be taking any interest in him taking up position there, so he turned his attention back to the ramp with forced determination.

The Dragonfly, a pleasure boat run by the infamous Captain Diego, can only be described as a large canal boat. With wide and openly spacious decks and many rooms of plenteous size and means, the Dragonfly is a place where a man comes for a release from the rigid structure of society. It is rare and unlikely for a female to enter the boat’s boundaries as a customer, unless she is approaching on business.

Great winding canopies are draped over the open deck, often with small groups of musicians playing spirited music under the sheltering cloths, and streams of waiters that mill quietly in and out between patrons, bringing alcoholic beverages on silver trays. The cloths sweep elegantly over the perimeters, each one the delicate colour of a deep red wine, and lit by fiery torches that bathe the whole boat in a warm and welcoming glow. Often a customer will find an assembly of scantily clad dancers gracing the bow with poised twists and turns of curvaceous and beautiful bodies. The setting oozes style and class, with a touch of informality that the clientele value so much. There are no rules; just that a man relaxes and enjoys what the Dragonfly has to offer.

Although a caller can relax and feel at ease in the flexible environment, every guest is kept firmly under the eye of Forrestal Diego, the Captain. A short and slight man, he wears boots with substantial heels so that he can tower over the staff and clients in the way he thinks he ought to. A bristling goatee hangs from his jaw in an attempt to disguise his weak chin, and although he possesses the charming wit and powerful intelligence of a true captain, his eyes betray an insecurity he has long since hidden. With a strange gift of popularity among women, the Captain enjoys all company, and quite happily mingles and socializes with his regulars; one of the things that keeps them coming again and again.

The Captain prides himself in the next to none services of the Dragonfly, and will personally ensure that a client receives the service he desires: Whether it be a night of drinking and relaxation helped along by varied hallucinogenic substances, or a highly rated ‘meeting’ with one of the outstandingly trained, high class female prostitutes that helped to give the Pleasure boats their title. The less accepted practices of the Dragonfly are reserved to below deck, where an abundance of richly furnished bedrooms are kept hidden from the outsider’s prying eyes. The Dragonfly is an expensive way to live, and if a customer cannot pay, then perhaps the Captain will have to employ one of his burly crew to ‘escort’ them off the boat...

Most folk that Uli could see leaving the boat were laughing and satisfied males. None of whom he would likely have any interest in spending a night on the town. After half a mark of waiting however, four thin and buxom well-curved women came sauntering off the boat. There was a tall human girl with blonde hair, two average sized humans with brown hair, and a rather short elvish girl with jet-black hair. The four of them were laughing about something, and the three humans seemed to be rather drunk.

All of them were very scarcely dressed, wearing what looked like shimmery undergarments that did not leave much to the imagination. The adhiel girl had a leather bag in her hand as she followed the other three girls.
