The Golden Gates of Roque - Dockside
Jygust 31st - Gravetide

Callara stood on the dock, watching the ship she had come in on so long ago. It seemed forever, but it had only been a mere yahren since she first arrived in Roque. The Emerald Dream lay there, it's subtle green hued hull glistening in the moonlight.

There was something in the air this night. Something that had called out to her across the Aether. A touch of destiny, an urge to powerful to resist.

The world was ending.

That was what it felt like at least.

So it was that the mindcrafter stood upon the dock, looking at the almost ghostly ship dancing in the waves. All her plans had left her, her mind clear for the first time in almost a yahren.

It was all pointless.

Power, anger, hatred. Fear and destruction were naught but tools for greater destruction and turmoil. She had sought to wage war on the world for all the terrible things it had thrown at her. But then, what happened to all the wonderful things? Her mind felt empty, even though she seemed to remember everything.

"It can't have all been bad." She muttered to herself as she gazed up at the dark masts rising against the background of the wharf and the cliffs upon which the Summer Palace stood.

It was time for her to go.

Inside her, a voice screamed at her. But she did not listen. The voice held no power over her. Regardless of what was to come, she wanted to see her family once more. She did not belong here, she belonged in Kislovan, to be with her parents and her twin sister. She needed to speak with them one last time, if this was truly to be the end as the ripples through the Aether proclaimed.

She turned around one last time to gaze upon the gates through which she had entered the city in the hope of finding a cure for her condition. She had started a search, filled with hope. Only to fall and never get up again. She had taken lives. Lives that should have never been taken. The end was coming, but those people had deserved to see it as she did now.

"I'm sorry..."

And for the first time since a long time, tears rolled down her cheeks.
