Scary. It would mean players editing each others posts in potential, with no other protection than to roll it back. Mm. Perhaps I'm becoming too traditional.

Then again, before we had forums PBP was run in a tree diagram like fashion. Does that make sense? I can still see it before me with each reply gaining a new one, but with the possibility of side threading due to two different replies being taken as the "main" which could totally be aside (and contrary to) what happened.

Of course before that PBP ran on Bulletin Boards (this was pre-internet). No idea what that looked like.

Wiki's are fundamentally designed as being open. There are some extensions that limit editing/reading functionality, but those are very experimental and they are dirty hacks instead of solid structured changes.

I would personally not be in favor of hacking a wiki into a playing board for the different levels of authority alone. Let alone the amount of alterations necessary to the current wiki code. Would mean that any future updates to the wiki's code has to be checked manually for the game wiki system. Brr...not something that I am going to do :) Wiki's weren't designed for it.

And really, you can still interlink. You just have to use the URL linking feature for it. If you make your forums so that the interlinking is less annoyingly visible (with just a slightly different coloring for instance) it wouldn't disrupt the flow.

Like thus minus the underscore, adding a color instead.

Of course when I made that proposal for the Taz mods the argument was that it was too time intensive, and maybe it is. *shrugs*

Oooh...that looks promising. Since I am already running a (still mostly empty) wiki, I will give that stuff a shot and see what's what. The installation is very easy. Even if I/we don't end up using it, at least it's been given a shot then.

Can I invite you to look at my work so far in the Tazlure Game System wiki or TGS for short?
http://www.creativelizard.nl/TGSwiki
It is not finished yet!! There is much room for improvement, and in fact I would welcome your help.

I have set up room for debate at:
http://www.board.creativelizard.nl

I plan to open creativelizard.nl at a later date to the wide public. Right now I am just reaching out to my favourite gamers, of which you are one :)
