Rosalie was standing in her office in the World's Mouth embassy, her arms folded. She looked out over the window, watching the goings on in the streets of the Citadel. The lady was displeased, vaguely worried.
In the back of her mind she was aware of all that was going on in the city. Her spymaster had things under control, sending out informants left and right and bringing her the occasional gem of information. Her careful plans of getting friendly with Citadelians and other foreigners was slowly becoming successful. Her marriage to the portly Marcada was.. mundane enough. It didn't stop her from much.
Yet Rosalie was... bored out of her skull. She tried to remember how things were when she first entered the Citadel. The excitement. The rush of fear. Pushing away the thought of Kaspar she nonetheless felt a lack of excitement, of being involved herself. It was as if she was a precious crystal, protected in the embassy and not allowed to do anything else than what was carefully scripted for her.
This is not how I imagined it. This is now how it was. the Merchant Princess reminded herself. A look thrown over her shoulder revealed the material she had been considering all day. The white shirt. The black breeches made of sturdy leather. The rapier. Rosalie needed an advantage and she was not gaining it by sitting here in her office waiting for it to come to her.
Dismissing further worries, including how her brother and father would react to it, Rosalie moved forward and changed clothing, which was no small feat. In the end she stood in the room looking pretty much like a lithe young man, her long auburn hair hidden under a cap. Just to get into practice again, Roselie walked towards her balcony and jumped off, hoping to land softly in the street. A wink for the guards who would no doubt recognize her, a wicked grin as she included them in her secret. Then she disappeared into the town.

It would have been more appropriate if there had been a layer of dust on the clothes, like it had in Rosalie's mind. Yet the clothes were like new, smelling completely fresh as her office was kept well maintained and was amazingly clean.
When she jumped off of the balcony and landed a couple of feet away from the guards, they immediately grabbed their swords and started to walk towards her, or him, as they first saw it. An intruder! Not even trying to get in, but trying to get out again! How was that possible?? But then they saw her face and recognized her for who she was, the Ambassador. The shock still clearly visible in their faces she gave them a wink. With a sheepish grin and perhaps even some red cheeks they put their swords back into their sheets and returned to their post. They were in on her secret, but she was free to do what she pleased. Free to search for adventure.

"Ciao, " Rosalie said her farewell and going down the street, she hummed a little childhood song from her youth, one involving a man wiping out another familia with vendetta, counting each death "Uno, Due, Tre...ciao, ciao." Her hand rested comfortably on her rapier.
Into the Citadel Rosalie disappeared, throwing a look over her shoulder to make sure she was not followed now and again, but otherwise concentrating on her surroundings, taking a deep breath of the filthy city air.
