Geoffrey, finding that everyone else could likely handle these matters, took his leave in favor of the cart he'd recently exitted. Those who remained did the same, and within a few burns everyone had managed to pile into their respective areas as they had before, allowing for the wheel truck clan to get a move on and finally leave the city itself behind. Talis would find that there was a place for her among those in the first cart (with all the other players) if she chose it, but if she wanted some more privacy there were also seats in the passenger cart and she was welcome to one of those.

Starting now, having left the city, they were at the whim of the world of travel. Some of the members of the guards prayed to Dominicus while others sought out the goddess of luck to grant them speed beneath their feet and safety on their journey.
