While Morniendur helped Alustariel to her seat, her eyes remained fixed on Ashtallion. What was the Lord Argil doing? Had the Seneschal mentioned anything to him? Alu had purposefully avoid the use of her brother's name at yesterday's meeting. Alu breathed deeply, trying to contain the butterflies in her stomach.

Her eyes instead found Loraith, wandering and alone. She almost smirked, though not out of malice, she could understand he was attracted to her - and the fact that another man (whatever right he might have as Host of the party) had escorted the Lady to the table, must have stung Loraith's pride. She was, however, sorry for his absence - Loraith was fascinating man.

"Morniendur" she said smiling, "There are yet another three chairs left untaken at our table - I should very much like my brother and Lord Argil to sit with us, so I can introduce Ashtallion properly.

"But that leaves one seat, and there is another important representitive here tonight - that Loraith Kasvenir I was speaking with earlier, is here on behalf of Lady Rilana, she would not be pleased if he did not sit amongst her peers"

"Sit him with my brother... " the smirk that had been lurking behind her lips came to fruition "... I'm sure they'll get on well"

It was, she hoped, a tactfull way to keep both men happy, if Morniendur had taken a shine to her as well - he could be offended if he noticed that Alu's attentions were elsewhere, and Loraith would surely be glum if she ignored him completely. It was also fun to watch Loraith's debonair manner meet Ashtallion's polite and matter-of-fact. She tried to catch Loraith's gaze and offered her smirk to him. No man would reach Alu unless she had had her fun with him first.

Well - maybe Asht and Loraith could sort out the differences.... I'm sure Loraith will be simply pleased to be closer...... my those tuna roes look fabulous she thought.

Morniendur's eyes narrowed as he looked from the vision of loveliness at his side to the useless fop that had seemed to catch that worthy lady's attention. Most definitely NOT his choice of dining companion but...

His tongue darting briefly from between his lips, he let them curve into a gracious smile as he turned his gaze back to Alustariel. "Anything you desire, Milady. If I may, he can take the seat between Lord Argil and your brother, who will of course sit next to you. Will that suit?" He smiled, unable to hide the gratefulness that he'd found a solution that kept that... abomination... away from both the lovely lady as well as his own honorable person. He'd make it up to Argil later.

Once he gained her acceptance, he pulled the lady's chair out for her, pushing it in for her in a smooth, practiced motion as she took her seat, then slipped into his own. "What would be your pleasure for drink, milady?" he asked while he waited for the others to take their own places. "Of course, we have every type of Kislovani wine imaginable. After all, there is nothing better than pure Kislovan anything." His eyes flicked toward Loraith so quickly it could have been imagination making one think that it had happened. "Though if your tastes run to the more exotic, we have many of the more exotic imports as well."

When summoned Loraith made his way over to the table, he sat at his seat and made sure to avoid looking at Alustriel, he knew that the powerful Adhiel next to him had rather taken a shine to her and he did not want an enemy in so trivial a matter. So he looked at the unaken seats for a second before turning to Morniendur. He looked the man in the eyes only for a second to let him know that he adressed him fully and formally. Then as was the habit of servants he cast his gaze below that most illustrious Adhiel's face saying in an even and clear tone, "My Lord I am Loraith Kasvenir at this event representing my family, the great family Cullàmh and its illustrious head Lady Achroiliel Rilana." He took a breath and recalling his days of servitude in the great Adhil houses made a pledge, "My Lord I ask that if you need any service from me no matter how small ask it of me and it shall be done, for while eating at your table I am nothing more than your humble servant." He kept his eyes down as he once again look before him, no longer angry or a fop, he was merely reserved. Attempting to remain largely unnoticed, he stared ahead waiting to be served with his body read to respond to any order he was given.

The tension in Morniendur's words shot Alustariel like a lead sling bullet. The racial predjudice that she had experienced here was more widespread than she first imagined. Morniendur was a wise man, but to see him balk at an Achadhiel close to sickened Alustariel.

Am I so different from these Kislovani Adhiel? she asked herself silently. She stiffled such thought though, for Morniendur had offered her wine. Alu figured she had better play it cool, the last thing she wanted was for Loraith and Morniendur to duel - however a pleasure it would be to watch.

"I hear your red wine is something of a treat, do you have any spiced reds?"

Ashtallion had been most curious regarding Argils' last words, about the major 'players'. Especially where Mage Falgan was concerned. Let them play, if need be I will play just as well..

He sat where indicated, thankful his sister was not far from him. Loraith seemed reasonable, if somewhat pretentious, he was merely acting like the protective sibling, no man, human or adhiel, would be good enough for his Silver Sister. Perhaps she would say the same about him...

Ashtallion did not interupt the conversation and the ordering of wine, he merely looked politely interested, casting his eyes over other people present.

OOC: There seemed to be some confusion about the seating. Unless anyone has a major objection it goes like this clockwise:

Morninduer
Alu
Asht
Loraith
Argil

with Argil on Morn's right, closing the circle.

At Loraith's words, Morniduer smiled broadly, a hint of viciousness lying underneath the polite exterior. "Oh, I'm sure there will be nothing I'll need ask of such an honored guest representing such a perfect flower as the Lady Rilana." He dismissed the offer with a wave of his hand. "For tonight, enjoy the food we have to offer. That is the greatest service you could provide me."

Without another word, he turned his attention away from the blonde achadhiel and back to the silvery beauty of Alustariel. "A spiced red, you ask? Most certainly, my lovely." With a clap of his hands, he summoned one of the human servants to his side as if by magic. "A glass of the Kislovani Markiel, Das, for the lady. And another for myself. Would anyone else care for one?" He looked around the table. "Argil? Ashtallion?" His eyes stopped at Loraith, sparkling while he waited for the younger being to dare ask for some himself.

"Come, my friend, you know me better than that." Argil responded with a laugh. "Das, I'll take a white wine. Something light to go with the fish." With a nod he dismissed the human servant and turned back to the group.

"It is so rare that we have new guests joining our little club. I must say Alustrial, Ashtillon, I can certainly see the family resemblence in your faces and the way you carry yourselves. But there is something that puzzles me. With a brother ans sister, it is usually easy to tell the elder by little hints and clues in the way you treat each other. But in your case I have not been able to figure it out. Now, I am far to well bred a gentleman (this was said with a chuckle and a quick glance over at another table, where the woman who had introduced herself as Kaleen was sitting) to ever ask a woman's age. But in this case I at least must know, which of you is the eldest?

Perhaps Loraith of the days before would have responded to the provokation of his delightful host, but now he decided to respond in a different manner, "My Lord I shall not trouble you to ask for wine, I feel it would be wasted upon my uneducated palate." He nodded gently at the Adhiel and smiled, "I shall attempt to improve my palete by indulging in some of the vintages in my families collection my Lord." He smiled and turned to Alu very briefly and half a smile played at his lips, he had managed to stay within his role as below Morniduer and at the same time had managed to impress the fact he had breeding to the rest of the table. Morniduer would look highly unreasonable if he was angered at an innocent comment like that.

Evidently Morniduer was attacking him and trying to make himself look impressive in front of Alu, it was a dangerous game for Morniduer to play however since it allowed Loraith with the ability to appear impressive by his calmness and lack of effort. Loraith merely puts his hands together in front of him and looked calmly. As Argil sat down Loraith repeated his process, he turned his eyes to the man and then turned them down, slowly and clearly he spoke, "My Lord it is a pleasure to share your table, if you have any requests of me then please do not hesitate to ask me, I am your servant." He turned his eyes down again feeling rather downcast at this table. But his little bit of wit against Morniduer had pleased him.

Ashtallion had to admit he enjoyed the parley of words between Loraith and Morniduer, although he was never one to be racially predjudice, the mage had to stifle his own amusement. Again, mayhap it was merely the protective instincts of a brother that prevented him from warming to Loraith.

" My thanks, but no wine for me, Lord Morniduer.... ", he bowed politiely, " I find it goes straight to my head, jsut some water will suffice for myself. ", with a fine smile, he glanced at Alustariel.

You be careful, my Sister, you play with powerful men here.

Yet he was impressed by her, once again.

"No offence taken, Lord Argil" Alu beamed "I'm in the vicinity of seventy-eight yahren of age" her eyes flashed quickly to Loraith to see whether this news caused him shock, no doubt that was nearly double his age - but Adhiel were long-lived beings, so in reckoning Alu was still in early adulthood.

"My brother, you will find, numbers just as many years - we are twins - far from physically identical, but like you say Lord Argil, we are similar indeed"

"As to who is the eldest, well, we've argued about that many times ourselves" she laughed fondly, her eyes settling back on Ashtallion. How she loved him, ever-sensible and cautious.

Ashtallion's eyes, gazing back into her, had an intent, as if he was silently speaking to her. She felt the need to calm him, maybe tomorrow she would take him to the gardens and they could sit and perhaps take lunch.

"So tell me, Lord Argil, how fares her majesty the Queen?"

Argil's eyebrows rose as Alu spoke. He leaned forward slightly in his chair, giving her his full attention while his fingers unconsiously stroked his lips in thought.

Morniduer's eyes narrowed at the sheer cheek the creature across from him showed in his response. But there really was little that could be said to so... gracious a response so the adhiel instead chose to say nothing. He nodded to Das to fulfill the order then sat back to listen to the conversation between Argil and Alustariel.

At the mention of twins, a single eyebrow rose. "How... extraordinary," he murmurred. Then he smiled at the beautiful woman next to him. "It makes you all the more rare, my dear," he remarked, reaching out to cover her hand with one of his own in a protective gesture.

Loraith found the wisdom not to speak until he was spoken too and after all found very little interesting with the discussion at present. He however did not appear a dejected individual, he instead maintained a servants posture, a straight back and a downturned head, not overly so but looking at the table. His hands rested in his lap.

Alu simply stared at Ashtallion, the two Lords had ignored her question about the Queen. Naturally this might have been innocent ignorance or lack of hearing - but it also roused Alu's curiousity.

Alustariel felt that an uncomfortable silence was about to fall upon the table. Argil was oogling her and saying nothing, Morniendur was aghast at being seated near Loraith and Ashtallion was a tad wary. Whats more, Morniendur's hand was now over her own.

"Ahem" Alustariel gave a faux cough and looked to both Argil and Morniendur "Come, this wonderfull fish will be getting cold, shall we toast and raise our drinks before we begin to feast?"

Argil seemed to snap back to himself, realizing that he had been obvious about staring. Smiling now he lifted his glass.

"To Calmeann, Altaroien, and guide, and leader of our fair island. To her, and Kislovan, may the Mother's blessings be upon them."

As he spoke, the servants took it as there cue to bring the rest of dinner. The tuna they had seen before was now cut into steaks, grilled corn, peppers, and piles of many different foods were layed out until the table nearly bowed under the weight.

The smells competed with the salt air of ocean, coming at last to a truce that attempted to squeeze every last drop of saliva into the mouths of the guests.

Morniduer raised his glass in time with Argil's. "A proper toast," he approved with a smile. Rising from his seat, he addressed the assembled group. "Please be welcome and enjoy the feast. It was prepared in the hopes of pleasing your palates and enflaming your senses. If there is anything that we can do to make the meal more enjoyable, you have but to ask.

"And now," he spread his arms wide, encompassing the room. "Eat! Enjoy!"

Taking his seat once more, he turned to the beautiful lady at his left. "And what would you like to begin with, my dear?" He snapped his fingers and Das appeared at his side, ready to answer the adhiel's every whim.

Loraith had been generously fed by his family since he had returned. Cheese, fruits and meats had found their way to him and as such he had not a great hunger. This assisted him as he knew he needed to wait to be served. Let Morenduir and Argil and all assembled eat first the young being thought with a hint of resentment in his mind. It began to occur to him that he needed to improve himself and he must establish relations with the Queen. Until this happened he was going to remain firmly below his more esteemed table guests.

So Loraith continued to sit with his straight posture, with eager and open eyes, he was alert and he made sure he noticed anything that happened. Servants noticed anything and Loraith made sure he did the same.

A sudden snort of laughter and a coughing fit errupted from the next table over. One of the servants ran over with towels, as the entire table began to chuckle. It appeared that Delandera had be accidentally sprayed or spilled upon with wine.

Ashtallion maintained his posture of polite interest in his surroundings, enjoying the food greatly, yet only eating the most delicate and choice of morsels. Taking a slow and large draft of the water, he placed the glass down, tracing a finger over the crystal. Their table needed a topic of conversation, but the adhiel made was no conversation starter, he glanced at those sitting around his table and as always his gaze rested on Alustariel for that little bit longer.

" Alu, forgive my bringing this up at the table, but have you managed to find a tutor yet? ", he cocked his head slightly as he looked at her, " You know I will help where I can. ", her brother smiled warmly, gently, before taking another sip of the water.

Alustariel pressed a finger to her lips "Well, I would dearly love some grilled fish pieces, if they are on the menu, sprinkled with lemon and pesto ... forgive me if I am stepping beyond the mark, it was a dainty dish I had on my last visit here - "

Alustariel's attention went to the next table, she could see the fuss being made - it was poor Delendara. The girl is so innocent, Alustariel thought, if she's not carefull they'll eat her alive here. Alu was looking forward to when the girl would sing her tutor was quite the tart but Alu sensed there was no problem with Delendara's raw talent.

And on the issue of Tutors, Ashtallion brought Alu back to the conversation with a question of her education.

"Not yet, Asht, I have intentions to seek one tomorrow. Though I have quite made up my mind that it will not be the Battlemage Royal. I have heard nothing but how wise and scholarly he is .... and I have nothing but respect for him. But out of my own choice I will seek somebody different. Sorry if thats a bit enigmatic" she smiled at Asht "Don't worry, I know you'll help, I'll need all the after-lesson practice I can get - and not outside Inns" she added with a touch of dark humour and a wink.

"Morniendur, tell me, how does one enter into the Queen's Court in Kislovan. I have been there twice and quite enjoy it, but do not feel a part of it all yet ... I would dearly love to meet Her Majesty in person eventually"

At Alustariel's request, Morn chuckled. "We can certainly accomidate you, my dear. Make that two," he nodded to his servant.

Das returned an acknowledging nod, then went to stand beside Argil. "And for you, m'Lord?"

Meanwhile, Mornideur's attention was turned to the commotion from the nearby table. "Pardon me a moment, beautiful one," he murmurred to Alu, having missed what, exactly, caused Delenedra to be covered in some of his fine wine. He started to rise to apologize to his guest when he noticed exactly was the recipient of the mishap. Instead, he glanced toward Argil and pitched his head slightly in the direction of the other table. When he was sure Argil would attend to the matter, he turned his attention back to the conversation between brother and sister.

The Lord Reeve General listened attentively to Alustariel's question about the Queen's Court and his eyes lit. "Why, my dear, you have but ask. I would be happy to bring you to Court and sponsor your introduction to the Queen. Yours as well," he nodded to Ashtallion. "If you so desire it. Shall we say two days hence?" He looked from one twin to the other for confirmation that the date would work for them. "There will be a formal Court one mark before Trade Tide. I would be honored if you would attend with me."

Loraith was rather suprised by Morenduir, it was a slight risk he was taking introducing the Urdil's into polite society and to the Queen. They were Adhiel that much was so, and they were definately polite but did they know the ways of court? If they caused an embarrasment then surely Morenduir would suffer. Still more than that is reenforced the cruel fate he had found since he arrived in the island. These two would meet the Queen based on their race not their actions or anything. Loraith could not even persuade his own cousin to sponsor his ontroduction.

In a way he admired Morenduir, it was an act of kindness he performed here. Naturally his kindness was motivated by his rather overactive loins, but kindness none the less. He himself would not meet the Queen for some time if ever. If he arrived at court it would be somewhat amusing, he would no doubt end up serving drink to Adhiel merchants or some other demeaning task. Loraith felt rather mealoncholy but did not show it, he say stoic still and merely continued to ponder on the state of things.

"Excellent!" Alu said softly and sipped from her wine "I shall have to call in to Audrey's again if I am appearing before Her Grace" she looked to see if she could discern Ashtallion's reaction to this. Surely he would be wary, but Alu felt that if they needed allies here, whilst they were in Kislovan they needed to feel some sense of security - and with no real amount of money, no home and as yet no way of making a living - this might make things run just a tad quicker. Alustariel hoped anyway.

Alustariel did not fail to notice Morniendur's miff of Delenedra ... an achadhiel like Loraith. A slight nervous squirm in Alustariel's stomach told her that maybe that was one thing that could be her fortune or disfortune in Kislovan - matters here relied heavily on race, Alu's thoughts on any matter were guided by her optimistic - and certainly not - racist heart. It was something Alu and Asht both bore, as their upbringing had been in the multicultural Citadel and in neither Kislovan or Taquar, the Adhiel nations.

Alustariel's eyes flashed to Ashtallion, and, thinking better of her idea of a rash consent to attend, spoke again on the matter of meeting the Queen.

"Can I send you word tomorrow Lord Baradan?" she looked to Morniendur, "My brother and I shall discuss it tonight. I understand that it is no trifle of a thing to come before the Queen - and we would need to ensure that we'd look our finest and are in good mind and wit to meet her in two days. You understand though, that I am most eager to do this"

As Alu finished speaking, Lord Argil returned from making sure that everything was alright with the guests at the other table. "I am sure that her Highness will be pleased to meet the two of you," he said while seating himself.
