Sierran Harbour - Chyril 27th MT

Post by Guest »

A lithe outline broke the perfect sunrise. The Raptor of Amun Rah woke the gulls as he placed one easy footprint onto fresh Sierran soil. The air was humid and wonderfully alive, buzzing with energy that the young Achadhiel could feel pulling at his heartstrings from the heavy canopy beyond. The bastion of Réalt was a welcome sight indeed.

Clouded in navy, the color of Usayd's bedouin robes fell loose and fresh over an eager frame. Slung low across his dorsal muscles hung a scissor of two curved longswords. One a scimitar adorned with talons, and another a wickedly curved khopesh dyed the darkest of strong red. Long curls of black locks fell against a smooth earthen face, almond shaped eyes dotted under with the brandings of the great desert. Exotic maybe, but already the air called to him.. welcoming him like a son. Adham was eager to adjust to his new surroundings as he made sure to keep his posture clean and non-threatening while stepping dockside. Such strangeness was commonly met with concern to say the least.

The nomad nodded politely to his first mate and turned down a final swig of galley rum, his eyes beaming with sharp contrast. Surely someone would take interest in his arrival.. or perhaps he would simply be free to move as he pleased, walking ahead to make his own way. Either premise was not out of the question.. one only had to take ten steps forward to find out.

The isle of Sierra was a difficult place to reach by ship mainly because no one sailed there except for their own supply vessels. Uphuron's call to Usayd led him to Dort just as the latest supply vessel was leaving and though the request for passage was clearly unexpected it was accepted without incident. The passage was uneventful. Not even a storm livened the trip. As a paying customer, Usayd was left to own devices.

The docks of Sierra were very quiet compared to those of Dort or Amun Rah. On the other isles it would be a bustling place with sailor's heading to and from dockside taverns while strongarmed laborers hauled goods about and small time traders made their deals out of pushcarts. In Sierra every pier but the one their ship was tied up was empty and silent. The men that move the goods from the ship wear the livery of Dort and work almost lazily with time being no object.

Usayd could see the Captain of the the supply chatting with one of the uniformed men. He held a clipboard and made marks on some papers as the others worked. The Captain jerked his head and pointed at Usayd and the uniformed man looked from his clipboard and just stared at him for a flicker.

Then he strode down the pier and looked Usayd over. He cleared his throat nervously. "Welcome to the isle of Sierra." He greeted him. "Um, I just need to know your name and why exactly you've come here."
