Passageway to Taloh Tel'Amrun (Entrance Gates)

Post by Lugh »

These are the gates to the inner forest, where Taloh Tel`Amrun is situated. The path leads you to a small clearing and a feeling of benevolence surrounds you. The calmness of the inner forest is almost overwhelming, yet as you look back to the passageway you see a threatening darkness. A bright flash of light engulfs you,and suddenly you find yourself on a terrace. The sight is astonishing, a City bathing in sunlight, suspended amongst the trees. Wooden walkways lead from platform to platform, with buildings on every one of them.

Rathien enters the small clearing, looking all about her, the wind blows softly blowing at her hair, irritating her further, the road was harsh and she was tired.

She brushes it out of her face with a irritated hand, and stops , keenly aware that something here does not feel quie right..
She looks back and her eyes narrow the direction of her stare back at the passage, she again has the feeling that something is not quite right something lurks there , She shakes her head, shaking the thought out of her mind, and continues on.

Suddenly she has to sheild her eyes from a extream flash of bright light, wondering just where did that come from, she then is further amazed to find that she is on a terrace..

She looks on in wonderment at the sight that she beholds before her, it makes her giddy with excitement, as she thinks she will do well here in this city. The city is madnificent, and so full of light it almost blinds her.

As she looks on at the bustle of the city, she is astounded yet again at the fact that this city is is in the trees, she had never seen such a thing.

She looks at the walkways thoughtfully, brushing her hair yet again out of her eyes in irritation, deciding what walkway to take.

She sighs, and walks on taking in the beauty of this great city, as it unfolds before her..

Still behind her she feels this overwhelming sense of dread, She knows not why, she shrugs to herself thinking that she is just weary from travel, she walks on in hopes of finding lodgeings..

An elf with a greenish metal plate-armor approaches Rathien.

"Quel're, cousin. What leads you here and did you see anything unusual along your route to our City?"

Rathien notices that the elf that addressed her, does not remove his hand from the hilt of his blade.

Rathien is shaken from her thoughts and comes to a halt on the walkway. She sees that an elf is aproaching her, in heavy aromor so it seems.

She looks at him with a steady gaze as he greets her and replies "Vedui', I am Rathien, From Kisloven."

She is suprised to find that this elf is on gaurd with her, she ownders why that might be. She says to him " I am traveling, actually, looking for lodgeings at this time"

Sensing this elf knows something that she does not, she tightens her grip on her quarter staff..

Looking up at the elf she smiles and says " I have seen many travlers on the road to this city" She shrugs and continues "Nothing unusual, at least not to me."

She silently gazes at the elf, narrowing her eyes a bit, biting her lip, wondering why it is that this elf's hand is still on the hilt of his blade.

The Elf narrow his eyes and tightens the grip on the hilt of his blade: "You mean you haven't seen any orcs around? That seems a bit weird, does it not?"
Rathien

With a lift of her eyebrow, she cooly looks at the elf and says "Yes i saw a few of them, I however avoided contact, as one cannot fight 5 orcs"

She looks at the elf and smiles " You expect that i would take on five of them at once? Hardly a fair match. if you so wish you can go right out there and do so, or you could possiably show me the way to the inn"

She looks at the elf with a steady gaze and asks "Well, What's it to be?"

The elf looked at ther: "Miss, I do not like the tone you are using. We are a country on the verge of a war. Everybody is a suspect unless he has a valid reason for entering this city, what is yours?"
Rathien

She looked at the elf "I know That all are suspect at this time, but my business here is to find a place to rest, I am on a quest of sorts sir, my tone is not in discord with you, I am weary of travel, I apologize for my tone."

The Elv wrote down her name on the paper and handed it over to her: "Do not lose this. This is your pass, without it you might very well be thrown out of the city."

He smiled slightly: "I must apologize for not answering your previous question. My name is Galáril.

He looked back to the city with its wooden walkways that connected the many platforms, situated amidst the foliage of gigantic trees. Magnificent structures with exquisitely details: "Rathien, is there any place in particular you want to go to? Our beautifull city can be a bit confusing to newcomers and I can tell you how to walk."
Rathien

Smiles happily and takes the paper from him tucking it away in a safe place..

"I shall not loose it sir"

She glances away towards the city, then makes the decision.

She looks at the elf and asks "Where is it that i would go to Request to join the Emerald Guard?"

Galáril smiled: "Ah, you would like to join our ranks then? Well one would first go to the Palace to do your request after wich a test shall follow. Come I shall explain you how to get to the Palace."

He began to explain Rathien the way to the Palace and afterwards wished her good luck and reminded her that she need to visit him the next day.

OOC: Rathien, you can post in the Palace entrance thread now. It is in this forum.

Life on the road had prepared Draggo for many things, but not for the sudden flash of light that greeted him apon entering this woodland clearing.

Once the flare had subsided from his eyes he was astonished to find himself staring at one of the most wonderous cities he had ever seen.
A city built amoungst the trees.

Elves were plentiful here but there is a fair amount of the other goodly races as well. All seemed at peace and peacefull at the same time.

Draggo thought to him self,"I could stay here for a while, or atleast until the road calls again".

He was about to look for the nearest tavern so he could wet he's dry mouth with some ale, when he spied an armored figure striding towards him.

"Ah, of course something this beutiful must have its protectors, the city gaurd no doubt" Draggo thought.

"well the wind leads me here as it has led me since I took up the life of a wanderer. As to spying anything unusual on my way here, well you'll just have to be a bit more specific. I have travelled far in my life and have seen a great many unusual things" Draggo cheerfully replied. Carefully watching the elf and and the straying hand.

This one definitaly is a guard Draggo thought, and by the self confident way he was handling him self. Obviously an experienced guard. Best not make any move that could mistaken as hostile.

Draggo forced his road weary body to take a more relaxed posture. Hoping the guard would not consider this dusty stranger as a danger to the peaceful city he is charged to protect.

"Your city here is one that I'll have to add to that list. It is quite beutiful and I hope friendly to strangers." Draggo added with a quick smile to his lips. "Please, pray tell, where might one find comfortable lodging."

The guard relaxed a little bit but his hand did not stray far from the hilt of his blade, prepared to draw it if the need should arise.
He sighed: "Many strange things can be seen on the ways at these times. But what I'm particulary interested in are he used an Elven word, those foul creatures cause nothing then trouble!"

He looked at Draggo and when he saw his face he smiled: "Oh, I'm sorry. I don't think you can understand our language. I believe you call them Orcs. Yes, that is the word. Have you seen any on your journey here? They ambush many weary travellers ."

Draggo's face visably darkened at the mention of Orcs. His eyes lost all the warm they had radiated previously and his voice became hard and cold.

"Well the Orcs and me have this little agreement, they leave me alone and I leave them with all their body parts still attached." Draggo replied.

Just as swiftly as the darkness arrived it fled, Leaving only the cheerful wanderer.

"But, as I dont see any Orcs about here. We won't have to worry about that. Now will we?" Draggo said as the sparkle in his eyes returned. Followed soon after by the smile on his lips.

Draggo thought shamefully about how easily the anger and hatred returned to the surface. All these years and still the need to spill orc blood could reach out like a hand from the grave and pull him back into the darkness. Once again he looked to the city behind the gaurd. hoping that maybe here he could find the inner peace he needed, to cleanse his soul of the blood his anger had shed.

The guard narrowed his eyes slightly and placed his hand on the hilt of his Master Cutlass, a subtle thread that did not go unnoticed by Draggo: "You haven't seen them or did you saw some and killed them? I hoped you did. We're at the verge of a war with them."
Draggo Blacksun

Post by Draggo Blacksun »

"Well,... I did see plenty of fresh orc sign. Not to far back into the woods, back there." Draggo frankly admitted. "As to killing any...I'll only do that if they pose a direct threat to any goodly person or to me of course."

Draggo looked saddened, the past it seemed would never give up its hold on him. An image flashed in the back of his mind, like a lightning bolt. An image of a small orc encampment, ruined. Strewen with orc bodies young, old, fighting fit, and sickly both male and female. The image flashed again to a pair of eyes. Eyes that were filled with hate and pain and madness. Eyes that were as dark as his own, eyes that were staring back at him through a pool of congealing orcs blood. Eyes he remebered as being his own.

A shudder rippled its way through Draggo, as his mind returned to the situation at hand. It seemed the Guard was getting real edgy, and Draggo knew he had to do something quick if he wish to stay within the city this coming night.

So slowly and obviously undoing his sword belt. Draggo went onto say "Seeing since you're almost at war I can understand why you would be wary of strangers, So to easy your fears of me I would be more than glad to reliquish my sword, and even to be escorted about your city. Just as long as I can have it back when I leave, and that I can feed this rather lean belly of mine before hand." he smiled at the last part.

OOC: As Elvin will be busy preparing for exams and such in the upcoming time, I will be continuing his valliant efforts.

IC:

The guard accepted Draggo's sword, but this did not make him less cautious. "So you are looking for lodging for the night. Will this be one night only, or is it more you seek to find?'
Draggo Blacksun

Draggo looked at the guard incredously, beginning to believe that his armor was thick, and his skull was thicker. Deciding that deplomacy would be the better tac, at least not mentioning his beleif out loud. Draggo choose his next words carefully.

"I would like to stay more than one night. As it would be more preferable to staying out in the open forest with all those orcs running around." Draggo said, hoping that this offical would be less offical and more understanding.

"If you wish me gone then I'll do so, but that'll mean one less sword arm in your city to defend it should the orcs gain an ounce of courage. Speaking of swords I would like mine back if I must leave." he went on to say.

The guard smirks and hands the man his sword.

"Best keep that thing handy, in case these greenhided Glamhoth still show up. There's an Inn just ahead, called the Ithil Opele. You can get yourself a room there. Be careful of the chatelaines however, they carry tongues as sharp as their blade."

He points towards the tavern and hands Draggo a pass for three days.
"Return to me if you aim to stay longer."
