Merchant's Hall

Post by Rees »

Actually a series of vaulted chambers, each dedicated to various types of trade with other nations, many of the foreign merchants can be found here throughout the day, trading goods and brokering contracts with elves for everything from medicianal herbs to finely bred horses to tutors for institutions of learning all over the known world.

A giant arch, with woven banners hanging overhead of all the different commodities is at the entranceway. Passing beneath them, you come to a long, low branch used as a counter and staffed by grey coated pages who can direct you whereever you need to go.

Merchant’s Hall

Aftermath of the Great Conflagration of Samheen 19th

The giant arch at the entranceway was the only surviving and noticeable remnant of the once Merchant’s Hall. Blackened by the fire and marked by blood and huge claws, it was the only witness to the countless T’aquar Adhiels that died on the fire and the attack of the Great Conflagration.

The vaulted chambers of druidically shaped Ironwood trees for various types of trade with other nation were but a hollow charcoaled shell. The ruin was vast: broken pots, damaged wares, burnt silken clothes were scattered around the empty, ghost hall. Debris and wreckage from the fire were littered everywhere as few surviving tradesmen, civilians and shapers were seen walking around, salvaging what they can from the ruins.

Those few merchants who survived were seen descending the platforms with their carts of wares downward from the Upper City towards the ground floor (Lower City), neighboring the School of Bhiradhun Aidhuqir, assembling makeshift tents and shops to continue trading.
