The Temple of The Red Warrior

Post by Finodborn »

Because the Red Warrior is normally called upon in battles and war tribunals, tents or temporary camps are his natural habitat, unlike buildings of stone and wood. However, as a concession to the pilgrims, there are several shrines dedicated to him, scattered across the Isles. Where you are standing right now, there is even a temple with several residing priests and acolytes. The building is neither big nor ornate. Wooden grids, lacquered in the blood red color of the Warrior decorate the otherwise plain façade.

The interior consists out of one big square room. All walls are plastered in white, whereas the few visible summers are painted red. The central floor is covered with mats of reed, on which two people -clad in red- are practicing their weapon skills by means of a duel with wooden swords.

At the edge of the room, there’s a woman and a man staring at a kemnboard, their foreheads frowned. The man reaches out to one of his pieces, but reconsiders and moves his hand back to his lap. In front of you, the sliding door to a sober garden is wide open, so fresh air runs through the temple. All of a sudden, you hear a loud thump. One of the two swordfighters has just floored the other. She takes of her protective mask, and comes over to you. “How can I be of service?”
