The Abbey: OOC board.

Post by Guest »

Hello all,

as you might have noticed, Dort is now split up in 3 areas, Dort, Capital, The Abbey and Islay.

As all of you will probably know by now I'm the headmod of Dort and keep an eye on all of you together with my four assistants.

In Islay I will be helped by AGM Galleorn who has an easy time right now with only Shona MacDevon being there.

In the Abbey GM Cyren will be on my side who has an even smaller task now Wyrdgirluk has quit Tazlure.

Last, but not least, there's Dort Capital. A minor change here, as I rule this place now together with AGM Wyverix and our location supporter Arvana Skyquill who will take over the Drunken Duck Tavern from this moment on.

Greetings and lots of fun,

Adanedhel.

Looking forward to having some fun.

Hope its alright that I start Avi-ralin posting in the Hall of Oak, instead of at the gates. Just seemed to make more sense with her background since she originally arrived with a Dwarven Highpriest and his escort who have since left the Abbey to return to Naz.

She's been left behind to receive further training in the ways of Mother Earth, and to broaden her Dwarven views. Though she certainly wasn't told the last, for from the High Priests point of view he didn't want to have to listen to her arguments.

"The child needs to learn the wisdom of others can be as great as Dwarven wisdom" Might be the Mother Earth's High Priest view on the subject, or at least partly.

Not a problem :) and welcome!

I don't have much time on my hands with my finals but I'll try to make your stay as pleasant as possible. I'm sure we can spin a plot for ya ;)

OOC: Nice entrance post Tallis Mae. Regarding your request above: 1. these are only the gates.. you will move to another thread as soon as you get past this gatekeeper. 2. You don't earn skills for just spending time in a place... only for good roleplaying. You could stay in the abbey for a year and not do anything cept wander around and idly chatter and you'd gain no skills except perhaps conversation.

(Figured I'd better take my response here, rather than right in the middle of the thread :P)

Ok. I just didn't want her to be 'frozen' for that long... y'know, just not getting anywhere. But hey, whatever works. I was more asking if the GM could take control of Mae and see where it goes; since I've only just joined, I'd like to get my training over and done with and move onto some place with adventure... but if that's not possible, I can deal ^^; Guess that means the GM only controls the character when the character's actually involved in a plot... ? :P

Don't be so sure your training and learning are going to be dull. I am sure Daniel and Elvin has cards hidden up their sleeves to surprise you and make your journey exciting. :D There are adventures everywhere.

About your concern of being gone. Five days is not really a very long time in Tazlure. Answering post takes time.

And when a GM takes control of your PC it is usually in a plot were there are other PCs who want to get the plot moving without having to wait for one who is absent.

Hope that anwers some of your questions. :D

As a rule, we don't take control of PCs.. that is the players job, not ours. Once again... we are all about roleplaying here and you have to walk through all the steps... mean YOU must write it in order to get credit for it. It will take much longer than a week or 2 real time to be trained as priestess or healer. Count on 6 months to a year but as Anarion mentioned, it isn't just plain training type threads. We believe in OTJ training. :) And no... 5 days absence is trivial. :) Our game tends to run fairly slow.

Hee, ok. It shouldn't be more than a week and a half, and right now it looks like it'll only be 5 days.

Thanks for all the help, guys!!

Ah finally! The torment is over and now I can go back to tormenting ;). I apologize for letting you all wait but these exams have drained me of most of my strength. I'll begin posting again this evening :).

Just thought I'd let everyone know that yes, it's official, I'm going to Quebec for 10 days starting Saturday (*squirreldance* wee!) So Mae will be unusually quiet and subdued during that time, unless I get access to a computer (which is very very doubtful lol). Since we're not really in a plot yet, I guess you could just assume that Mae is being influenced by the whole contemplative holiness of the place, and so isn't nattering as much... Iunno. But yes! that's what's going on :P Sorry about that, guys (but not really, because it's QUEBEC!!! *squirreldance*)

The greeting from Avi-ralin sounds pleasant enough but only understandable to those speaking Dwarven. Which kind of begs the question how she knew how to say 'Hi' in the first place.

In Dwarven: Howd'y flame top.

It is certainly lucky that Aislinn lacks knowledge of the Dwarven speech... as 'flame-top' would certainly have caused her a bit of a temper. ;)

Such as it is, however, she returns the greets with a generous smile.

Thanks for the post, Anarion. :D
