Roque d’Ancourt has kept it’s gates closed for quite some time during the horrible destruction in and around King’s Court. After being completely swamped with refugees this was deemed the only right solution to save the entire town from starvation.
Now that the gates have been reopened on Samheen 14th the last remnants of those fleeing the battle or the rumoured plague have found their way back to the city of safety.
After all: none of all this chaos has reached these gates!

King's Court siege and refugees
Still the city is overcrowded. New arrivals have a hard time finding lodgings for a longer period of time and the prices of food have been raised dramatically. The inns are doing business as usual, being the only place where people can find an affordable bed and breakfast.
The Bazaar has changed from a pleasant place to find your goods to a kind of desperate fight for broken pies and bread which will go for half price. It would be a good thing to mind your purse here!

News of Prince Balthasar’s disappearance has reached the city. Some say he vanished, others claim he left, leaving King’s Court to the crows. Yet from Samheen 16th on there are also voices suggesting that perhaps this disappearance is simply a ruse, meant to take the attention away from the fact that he is dead.

Murder most foul
Since Samheen 14th murdervictims have been found throughout the city. Since the dead mostly consist of the households of the greater Houses some suspect a strange conspiracy amongst the nobility. Ulinwen, Ravenhorst and Fortingue have already lost a member of their staff, but more bodies have been found, unidentifiable. The amount of blood spilled suggests the deaths have not been easy ones.
By now another gruesome detail has been revealed: of all victims the eyes have been taken.

On Samheen 16th a huge party was organized by lord Ulinwen to ease the mood and the nasty rumours that one of the nobles might have instigated these murders. It is rather ironic that at this party another murder was committed, the victim a fortuneteller hired for this party.

Again the murderer escaped.

Meanwhile prizes of food and basic necessities keep on rising with the number of refugees at the gates.

Samheen 20th
There are persistant rumours of a haunted house in the Noble's district, although nobody has ever tried to check. They all heard it from the aunt of the baker of the cousin on the corner...

Samheen 23rd
The proclamation of King Balthasar I has reached the city of Roque. Despite the initial panic, people seem to take it with a grain of salt, not really getting ready to move or to outlaw those not openly stating their beliefs in Dominicus.
After all, a king so far away, who has neglected them for so long...why would they acknowledge him?

Dangerous rumours, but they are heard.

Samheen 24th
A few people have taken the portal to Pax Balthasar. There still is no great rush.
People claim to have noticed a white light travelling from lower city to upper city in the middle of the day. Although it worried some, most blame it on the flocks of birds travelling.

Samheen 25thUlinwenn has vowed to give a party that will not result in murder and disappearances.
All those connected to merchanthouses are welcome this evening!
