The Ampatheatre and Floating Gardens

Post by Rees »

This is the largest public gathering place in the realm, with a great ampitheatre located in the bole of one of the largest of the Ironwood trees, tiers of seats and alcoves curving around a large rounded platform used for performances of music, dance, singing and poetry contests as well as public dances and festivals.

The lovely hanging gardens surrounding the ampatheatre itself are softly lit, with walkways leading through secluded groves of flowering plants growing in mossy beds upon the branches and sheltering elegant sculptures Shaped by the same magics that have transformed the trees of the city. There are small teahouses and pavillions for trysting in, and many elves of all ranks and professions come here to relax and socialize.

The Ampitheatre and Floating Gardens

The Aftermath of the Great Conflagration of Samheen 19th

The largest public gathering place in Taquir was the first edifice that burned down. The ampitheatre that was located in the bole of one of the magnificent, largest of the Ironwood trees was blacked with ashes and halfway burnt. The tiers of seats and alcoves that curved around a huge round platforms used for performances were gown. What was once a grand edifice was now ruin of charcoaled edifice, black and haunting.

Those lovely hanging gardens that once surrounded the ampitheatre were now resembling a patch of dead graves, with burnt twigs and black soils. The walkways leading through secluded groves were broken and the moss and flowers wilted against the fire that ravaged the city. The small teahouses and pavillions that survived the inferno were closed and boarded up and it was empty, devoid of any soul.
