Anora wasn't without any manners. It was just the finest manners of the upper crust that eluded her. Her grandfather had made sure she had some manners, after all. It was just more often than not she was with her mother or grandmother and they didn't feel such niceties were important to a thief.

"Now those sound like fun lessons," she replied, placing her fork down on her plate which was now completely denuded of any food. It was hard to tell there had been any there to begin with, it was so clean.

Varesh was nowhere close to making his salmon nothing but a memory and faint scent upon his plate, as Anora managed to do with her beef, but the moment her fork touched the plate, he summoned a waiter who was at their side promptly. "Now, do tell me you have a sweet tooth somewhere in that adorable, yet wicked smile of yours?" He arched a brow and turned towards the waiter, who turned his attention to her. "Would milady perhaps like something for dessert? Gelato is a popular choice amongst our female clientele, as is tiramisu. Or perhaps the lady would prefer some granita? The chef makes a renowned almond flavored granita, and we can offer you some sfogliatelle to go with that?" He smiled pleasantly and shrugged briefly. "Or if milady is willing to wait, the chef will make her anything her heart desires, provided the ingredients are not insanely exotic."

Anora chuckled at Varesh's words, her eyes twinkling. "Oh, I might have one or two," she replied, glancing up at the waiter as he came forth. Most of the words he said were completely beyond her. Pudding, cake, pie-those she understood. Everything else sounded fancy. But this was a fancy place and she wanted to be fancy. So, with a glance at Varesh, she said, "Tiramisu." It sounded much more exotic. She hoped she chose right.

OOC: Oh, how easy it is to guess what girls like......

The waiter nodded and glanced at Varesh who simply waved him off and settled back in his chair to sip at his wine, his salmon left unfinished upon the plate. "We will have to see if we can improve your posture somewhat, and also to give you a swift lesson in proper way to hold your drink."' He smiled before adding. "I think it would be a shame to change anything else, since it is your directness and that naughty streak in you that make you so alluring." Then his smile turned a bit more sinister, though only marginally so. "And I will take upon me to see what I can learn of his Imperial Majesty's tastes in women and see how we can use that to our advantage."

Anora laughed, trying to straighten her shoulders and not slump. But is was almost imbred in her to make herself as inconspicuous as possible, so it wasn't natural for her shoulders to be back. "There's a right way and a wrong way to hold a drink?," she asked, one brow raising.

With a few coughs and furrowing of his brows, Varesh leaned forward, and brought his shoulders up and forward, assuming a gruff manner of someone much sturdier than he, clutching his fragile glass around the stem in a full fisted grip. "Well, I might hold it like this, but it's just wrong, isn't it?" His voice was much deeper now, though he was obviously doing it on purpose. With a flick of his hand he lowered the glass down and held it between his thumb and his three middle fingers, his pinky extended towards Anora. "Or I could hold it like this and again he wrong, since it is not a cup of tea I am holding." His voice changed into an almost feminine high-pitched tenor, the man slipping between roles quite easily. Next, he let the glass slip in between his fingers, the stem resting between the middle and ring finger, his palm holding the glass aloft. "This is how you would hold it if it were filled with cognac, though I doubt you will be served that at the coronation." At last his fingers slid around the stem in a similar fashion to the one his feminine side used, only the thumb and forefinger rested much higher, above the place where stem started. "Now, this is how you would hold a wine glass. Bubbly wines would be served in a narrow glass and are more difficult to drink. You would have to throw your head back to imbibe them" He chuckled and took a sip of his wine. "I'll have to buy you another lunch tomorrow, and then we are going to drink a lot of alcohol to prepare you for the coronation. Poor Miss Frollie."

Watching Varesh go through the motions of incorrect and correct ways to hold a glass, Anora found herself giggling. He was wonderful. She was very glad now that she returned his purse instead of making off with the nicked goods. This was the first time she had truly relaxed and had fun in...in...by the Gods, she couldn't even remember the last time.

When he mentioned buying her another lunch, she almost gasped, but stopped herself. "Poor me? Poor you's more like it," she teased back, grinning widely, her aquamarine eyes sparkling with mischief and mirth.

Varesh merely winked and shook his head. "Let us not worry about money just now. We have a lesson to teach you. Come pick up a glass and let us have one right away." With a flick of a finger he summoned the waiter closer and ordered a dozen or so glasses of liquor, though he did ask for them not to be filled overmuch. He did not plan to get her inebriated or anything of the sort. Next mark or so passed in Varesh, with a generous assistance from the waiter showing Anora how to hold various glasses and sip drinks of varying intensity and taste. Some were sipped, while some were gulped down suddenly, and it was the strong ones that were imbibed thus.

It was almost a science, but Varesh seemed to know his wines and brandies, though by the time they were done the old man's speech slurred just a bit. "Oooookay, I think that shall do for now." He smiled, his eyes somewhat droopy and soft, their irises glistening in the sunlight. "Do you think you can get up on yourself?" His grin turned a bit dimwitted as the waiter came to his side and assisted the old man up. "You know what the best part about being old is?" He paused for a flicker before replying. "You can take a nap any time and nobody will think it odd. And I think it is time for my nap right about now. You won't forget lunch tomorrow?" the old man swayed just barely, as he pushed the waiter away, indicating he did not need his assistance anymore.

Anora listened and watched, her eyes focused and intense. Each gesture, each movement, each word; she listened and learned. Of course, she also became a bit tipsy. Nothing too much, but just barely. She had grown up drinking alcohol almost since birth. It was almost mother's milk. Of course, she hadn't drank this kind of alcohol.

As she watched Varesh get up, she almost reached out to catch him, but allowed him his dignity. "I look forward to lunch tomorrow, milord," she said, trying to sound like Varesh in her speech pattern. She had to sound much more high class than she was.

Varesh was not the perfect choice to mimic if one wanted to act and talk like a noble, the old man reveling in causing all sort of scandal around the city, but when he put his mind to it, he could be quite a gentleman. He nearly stumbled forward as he bowed to the most refreshing girl before him. "Very well then. You don't mind having your hand kissed and all that nonsense? That is how silly nobles greet ladies I fear. Just a short peck, though to be honest lips should not touch the lady's hand. If they do, then better watch out. That is the sure sign the man is searching a piece...." He threw his head back and chuckled. "Nearly said arse right there. Seems like you are rubbing off on me a bit too, my dear. And I quite like it." He turned towards waiter and whispered something in man's ear when he leaned closer. "You can get back home safely? I can have someone escort you back if you are unsteady on your feet."
