Samheen 10th

Dear Rees,

Thank you for the ride home on the 8th. I have thought of you, and our little promise often since then.

Sadly, something has come up that I need to take care of. I'll be sure to give you all the fun little details later, but for now I'd like to propose we reschedule our shopping trip, with the cocktails and footrub afterward, to the late morning of the 12th.

Kindest Regards,

Isabella Florentina

Samheen 11, early

Dear Isabella,

Don't mention the ride, for I don't know what I would have done without your arm to hold onto leaving the house with my terrible headache. You will be pleased to know that I seem to have suffered no Ill Effects afterwards and am even pursuing putting the Plan which you suggested into effect.

I do hope whatever has come up is nothing of a Serious Nature- and that you know you can always confide in me as I may have Resources to Call Upon that you do not. Consider myself and my Friends at Your Disposal in event of a crisis.

As to our shopping expedition, the Twelfth will suit me very well indeed as I will have returned from my cruise to Glittering Cove with the Major Domus by then and may have much to relate of Interest myself. I will be in my rooms at the Palace in the morning and will endevor to meet you in the Hall an hour before the Noon Bells.

Fondly,

Rees de Otaro

Samheen 10 late

Lady Kitlanya Redault,

My lady, while I am most appreciative of gaining a new fencing student, I did warn you that my schedule was unpredictable. I regret that a duty to my primary student has become quite unavoidable. As such, it is my fervent hope that you will agree to meet for a renewal of our lessons on the day following at our training facility. I trust you recall the location. I will kindly await your reply, in your debt for having broken such an important lesson. I remain,

Your Servant,

Samheen 10 late

Dear Sylvie,

I told you several days ago that I would find you a suitable position as a lady's maid. I have found that the Lady Isabella Florentina is in need of a maid. I have told her of you and she is quite eager to interview you. She has quarters in the palace, near the Office of the Master of Protocol. Please appear at your earliest opportunity. She will be in her quarters upon the following morningtide.

Please show this letter to the palace guards and they will admit you.

Sincerely,
Andolin Azarin

Tradetide, Samheen 11th

A small messsage quickly written on palace parchement informed Andolin another intruder had been captured in his garden. The man by the name of Ahren has been released on showing proof he belonged to the household of Highpriestess Eilish. He awaited questioning in his quarters.

Samheen 11th: Early Tradetide

A message arrived at the palace addressed to the Master of Protocol in a very flowery elaborate hand and sealed with red wax with no particular seal mark in it. Inside it said:

M'lord Azarin: Master of Protocol,

We were asked to inform you that a meal will be provided for tomorrow's morningtide class that you have been requested to address. You might want to consider skipping your normal morning repast.

Awaiting your wisdom,
Eager Students

Dearest Isa,

You may not have heard yet of my change in quarters. Imagine my surprise when I returned from Glittering Cove to find that the Major Domus had assigned me new rooms.

I hope that the plans for our excursion into the city today still stand firm? I will be meeting you in the Hall an hour before noon unless I recieve word from you.

In immediate reply:

Dearest Rees,

Such tales you have to tell, and likewise there is much that I would like to relate to you that are interesting at the very least.

Yes, our shopping trip still stands and I have taken the liberty to invite a few people along. The lady Fauna must have an unique tailor that I'm dying to know. Her dresses, like her antics, are soo exotic. I also met an interesting blind lady with a sharp art of observing nonetheless. You will enjoy talking to her. Finally, I've found some men willing to carry our bags, which of course is a must if we are to do our utmost to spend our coins.

Worry not about our budget. Our shared friend is willing to sponsor us on the case of redecorating the house. Perhaps though, you have your own sponsor for now?

I would like to propose to meet a mark earlier, so that we can spend some time afterward in the Rose at the baths. No doubt our feet will be grateful for the attention, and our contacts in the guild will make things easy for us.

Looking forward to our meeting,

Love,

Isa

Dearest Rees,

I have not seen you since I moved into the palace. It has been most troubling to keep an eye on you when you have not even slept in your room. I found your belongings where not even in the room when I went to check on you. Has something happened? Please send word of your well being, so that I may stop worrying. Would like to arrange dinner soon to talk of trivial matters?

Dear master Vanir-

Indeed, I have not slept in the room that was mine since returning from Glittering Cove- as the Major Domus had me moved to another suite entire before I had even set foot back in the Palace!

But I also am most certain that the housekeeper was not about to let you sleep on a cot in my anteroom, either, so you shall have to consider your presence in the Palace itself close enough for bodyguarding purposes.

I have some things to do of import in the city on the 13th- but perhaps we might meet for breakfast that morning and talk? I realize my sudden change of residence might have concerned you- and for that I am sorry. My mind has been much taken up with other matters, else I would have thought to send word.

Send a page to the Protocol Office and let me know if breakfast on the 13th suits? I would also like to know how our mutual elvin friend and his connections prosper. We will have many things to discuss, I am sure.

Dear Vanir,

Sadly I was unable to answer your letter any sooner. This recent issue at court caught me up in a whirlwind. Let me assure you that I am fine. Currently I have accepted the position as companion of Count Jacob de Bessnie who very graciously is taking me on a tour to Dort for a couple of days.

When we return I will be sure to send you an invitation to join me and some of the other ladies of your aquitance an invitation for tea so we may converse further on matters of philosophy and religion.

sincerely,

Samheen 14th,

Dear Rees,

We live in strange times. I know the whirlwind at court, nor my unpleasant circumstance, has not passed without your knowledge. Rest assured that currently I am alright, for which in part I have to thank Lord de Winter. Please send him my warm regards. Jacob and me are both very grateful for his intervention, and will not forget to show our gratitude at an appropriate time.

As you may have heard through the grapevine I have accepted a position as companion to Count Jacob de Bessnie of Muchislie, an old friend who was pleased to offer me his protection. Jacob is taking me on a trip to Dort on business for a couple of days. I think we can both use the short reprieve of court.

I hope you will not be cross with me for saddling you with more work than you are due. Give my regret to Lord Azarin that I will not be able to assist him with the invitationslist. He will find my notes on the most important merchants in my list of invitations for the debutants ball. I need not remind you that this is the perfect oppertunity to help Lord Vaeldemeux as we gave him our word. The passing of our friend doesn't negate our obligations.

Give my regards to Vanir, and be sure to notify him of the passing of our friend if he has not heard yet. I could find no gentle way of telling him in a letter.

I leave you with a hug in my mind, and the hope that you too find protection with some of the kind gentlemen known to us. This is no time for a lady to be unescorted.

Love,

Isabella Florentina

Samheen 14th, tradetide

Dearest Rees,

I do apologize that I could not respond or make our breakfast plans on the 14th, but I was arrested under false pretenses. I am sure you have already heard of the arrests by now and I am certain that many of our friends were taken as well. I know that something bad has happened to our elven friend and I felt his passing sometime this morning. I cannot fully explain what I felt, but I think it has something to do with my bonding to him. I can only hope that no one was hurt as well, but I will stop at nothing to find out what happened and make the murderer pay dearly.

There is much we have to discuss now and I feel something bad on the horizon. Please contact me immediately, so that we can arrange a time to talk. I will be at the Burpin Dragon this evening if you wish to seek me out. Please come to my room, so that we may talk privately. If you cannot come then, please send word of your safety.

Late morningtide, Samheen 15th

To Lord Azarin, Imperial Master of Protocol

Dear sir,

Recent events have upset the planned use of our students as pages in the palace. It has occured to me that I was remiss in not making your acquaintance before the students were assigned. I would very much like to rectify that and meet with you at your earliest convenience to discuss the details of the few remaining pages in your care. I will clear time from my calendar this afternoon if you are available.

Sincerely,
Guildmaster Larbeido Darvino
