"I will go first then, just remember that whatever happens I'll hold you to that ale whether it be back in the city or the forests of our ancestors." Celebcam smiled briefly before he moved forward to indicate he would begin.

Nearly three quarters of the crossbow wilding orcs seemt to rest their sights on Celebcam now as two other orcs grab him by the arms and drag him into the circled gathering. Rin was also moved forward so that he might witness the battle.

Already in the circle was an extremely large well muscled and ugly orc, Krashnar apparently and he was carrying a rather wicked looking longsword and a shield. Celebcam with shortword and dagger in hand waited for the combat to begin.

Rin watched in silence as Celebcam stepped forward to face his large opponent. The orc would obviously be considerably stronger physically than Celebcam, but Rin noticed that he also look especially stupid and slow, even among his kin. A member of the Emerald Guard would certainly use this to his advantage., or so Rin hoped. The last thing he needed was to be left alone against the orcs, and he had developed a small, but genuine, fondness for Celebcam. Even if his fellow elf had been the one to wound him, he had still saved his life.

There was a mighty roar from the oversized savage as the orc began the attack. One swing, the elf dodges easily, two swings and again Celebcam still the quicker of the two despite his wound manages to evade the giants blade and even draw blood on the creatures side with a quick cut by the small dagger.
Enraged, the orc dropped his sword which confused Celebcam for a moment but it was a moment he would wish he had back as the mighty beast grabbed him by the shirt and drove him into his shield. Twice more there was a sickening thud and bang as the elf's skull bounced off the metal shield. Celebcam wasnt looking good, his nose was obviously broken as blood poured from it and a nasty looking gash on his forhead.
Believing he has triumphed the orc tosses Celebcam into the dirt, the elf's eyes trying to roll into the back of his head.

Rin's eyes widened in shock. He rushed to Celebcam's side, still clutching the sword in his hand. He knelt by the side of his fallen elven comrade and shook his shoulder.

"Celebcam, are you alright?" he asked in a semi-frantic tone. Rin was well aware that the question was a stupid one, but its purpose was more to ascertain whether or not Celebcam was still awake. His heart pounded in his chest, his empty hand clenched into a fist, and he began to sweat. If a member of the Emerald Guard could not defeat this fearsome creature, by what means could a much less qualified fighter defeat him?

"Back up Rin.." came a weak gasping reply from the downed elf, "I'm not done yet, just caught me off guard." Celebcam grit his teeth together and without allowing Rin to help manages to climb to his feet though each new movement causes him to hiss and curse.

" Come! Nadorhuan, lasta lalaithamin!" he picked up the sword and dagger again, the orc across from him looked confused at the elvish insults so Celebcam was more than willing to translate. "Cowardly dog, listen to my laughter!"

The orc sneered and charged the elf, his shield leading the way as Celebcam seemed to just stand there his stance a little wobbly but he was not backing down.

As Celebcam stood up and insulted the orc, Rin moved back and out of the way. He had no intention of getting his head smashed in by a now very angry orc. He would let Celebcam and the orc fight it out, as he would probably be shot in the back by a crossbow by another orc if he dared to interfere in the fight. Rin could only look on, watching, waiting, and hoping.

Celebcam was reeling, the savage brute of an orc was charging with thoughts of death and humiliation on his mind. Less than a half dozen feet stood between the two combatants and it was closing fast. With one last blood curdling scream the orc was practicly on top of Celebcam, but what's this?

In a flash of movement that would obviously cost him later, the elder emerald guardsman dropped near the ground and spun, kicking the back of the orcs knees and using the creatures own momentum against him. Landing heavily on not only its chest but its shield arm as well, it barely had time to register the danger or the weight of the elf.

Celebcam had easily regained his feet after the spin and leapt atop the fallen creature and made some quick clean cuts before having to dart away as the orc regained its feet.

The eyes of the surrounding orcs opened wide, jaws dropping...the brute turned so that Rin and Celebcam could now see his face. Anger was infused throught the orcs features and it opened its mouth wide to bellow anew, and then was confused when little more than a gurgling sound came out.

Tumbling face first into the dirt, the orc died...the blood running red from the twin cuts on its throat.

Rin watched in surprise as the orc fell dead to the ground, a heavy thud sounding as its massive body hit the dirt. He looked to Celebcam for a moment, then back to the dead orc's body, then to the other orcs. He didn't dare say a word. He was not sure how the orcs would react to the slaying of their brethren, if they would honor their word, or if he too would be made to fight. The sudden silence seemed even more frightening than the fight before. Rin turned his head and looked directly at Celebcam.

"I suppose this means that I owe you an ale." he said in elvish in a half-joking manner, his voice barely above a whisper.

"I told you I was going to collect." Celebcam managed a brief smile before his eyes rolled up into his head and he dropped, first to his knees and then hard on his stomache. The pain was to much when his adrenaline rush ended, he allowed himself to give into the darkness that had been plagueing his vision.

The orc meanwhile were busy hooting and roaring their approval, already they were scavenging what they could off of their fallen comrade and taking away Celebcams weapons. There was the odd orc who took a cheap kick or swing at the fallen elf but Celebcam gave no notice, what was another bruise after what he had endured?

Finally they allowed Rin the chance to go to his comrade as they began to drag away the dead savage. The orc who had spoken to them earlier again walked up to the two elves.

"He fight good..."

As soon as he was able, Rin approached Celebcam and knelt beside him. Rin put both of his hands under his fallen elf comrade and gently attempted to roll his over onto his back, not wanting him to inhale any dirt. He stayed at Celebcam's side, wanting to protect him from any more abuse at the hands and feet of the other orcs. As the familiar orc approached them and spoke, Rin turned his head to look at him.

"Indeed." he replied, acknowledging the orc only because he feared that he would become angry should Rin totally ignore him.

Celebcam was most definitly unconcious, his labored breathing at least left Rin with the satisfaction that his friend yet lived. The orc who spoke last to Rin moved closer in a (as close as an Orc can get) non-threatening manner.

"Me watch him...you fight now" and before Rin could form an answer the orc was bellowing out what must have been orders because it was only a few burns before a bucket of water and a (relatively clean) rag were brought over to him.

"Me watch." he nodded again, then he pointed and waited for Rin to look. The circle of orcs was forming again, their cheers and hollaring were indicative of what was coming. In the center of the circle stood one of the savage brutes, a shortsword in both hands and a spike adorned helm atop his head.

"Bokwar..." the orc talking to Rin pointed to himself, "You fight...you win...make Bokwar rich." his toothy grin seemed to tell Rin that he had already profited from the first fight..

OOC: Sorry for the wait.

IC: Rin looked at Bokwar for only a moment, just long enough so that the orc would realize that he had been acknowledged. The elf gripped his sword tighter in his right hand and began to step toward the armed and armored orc. He offered a last silent prayer to his favored deities and prepared to fight. Rin tried his best to remove any external sign of fear from his body. Having the orc think him a coward would certainly not helped matters any. Rin stared at the orc coldly, calm on the outside, fearful on the inside. The orc looked even more vicious than the one Celebcam had fought. Additionally, Rin knew that he could not fight like Celebcam. His elven companion was an Emerald Guardsman, so his talents as a fighter went without saying. Rin wasn't a warrior, not yet anyway. He was just a high elf who had gotten himself into a mess because of his dedication to becoming part of the Emerald Guard. Either a great mistake by his adversary or divine intervention could save him now.

Rin's opponent was slowly walking towards him, not charging blindly as had Celebcams opponent. The twin shortswords were crossed and he looked as if he knew how to use them as he began a display of swinging both swords in opposing patterns.

"Im gonna kill you good elf, your blood will fill my cup as I feast on your bones!" he started screaming in rather good human, knowing that the elf wouldnt understand the orc tongue.

Behind him Rin could hear Bokwar yelling something in Orc, but whether it was directed at him or his opponent he couldnt tell except that the sword weilder glanced over at hinm and snarled.

"You will not live to take my life, orc. Death will take you, for your strength shall fail. You will pay for your crimes with your blood!" Rin growled back in the Common language, hoping to at least anger the orc into doing something stupid. He raised his sword and bent his arm about 135 degrees, holding the sword a foot or so away across his chest for protection.

The savage returned his attention to Rin upon hearing the taunting lines issued by him. Its face contorted with rage, Rin's plan seemed to be somewhat effective as it came thrashing in with both blades. One came in high and the other at the knees of the elf looking to either decapitate him or maim him so that the fight would be over quickly.

Rin ducked down as quickly as he could, looking to avoid the blade that sought his neck. Time seemed to slow as Rin moved, his blood boiling and pumping through his veins. As he ducked down, he moved one eye to the sword incoming to his leg. Rin knew that if he had any chance at all, the chance would be in acting quickly. Defense would be delaying the inevitable. If the orc had truly been distracted by his anger, his focus might have lessened. Perhaps he was so intent on killing Rin that his mind had drifted from his lower strike. Rin swung his sword to his side aiming the sharpened blade at the hand of the orc that was carrying the sword headed for his knee. He hoped that he would succeed in severing the orc's hand. If not, the orc would still have to move out of the way, disturbing his strike, or so Rin assumed.

Rin's plan almost worked as well as he had hoped, he had easily ducked under the brutal swing upwards. The lower strike was a little more difficult however, instead of digging the blade into the orc's wrist he was only able to deflect his opponents weapon wide so that it missed its mark by a rather large margin.

Now the orc had run past him, and was lunging for the smaller orc Bokwar and the fallen Celebcam. With eyes wide in fear, Bokwar grabbed Celebcams arm and began pulling in ernest hoping to keep out of the way.

At the moment, Rin's opponent had his back to him, not exactly a wise choice...

Rin spun around as the orc ran past him towards Rokwar and Celebcam. He didn't care much about Rokwar, but he wouldn't let his comarde be struck again. Rin noticed immeadiately that his opponent had his back to the elf, though he wasn't sure whether or not it was some sort of trick. Orcs weren't exactly the sharpest swords in the armory to be sure, but they were adept warriors and knew that turning one's back on one's opponent meant defeat or death in most cases. Still, the orc did have his back turned. Rin would have to take a chance on a quick strike. He charged forward as quickly as he could. Both hands were by his hip, clasping the sword. He stepped forward, thrusting the point of his sword at the lower back of the orc, ready to jump back if he had to. Rin did not know much about anatomy, but he had learned a thing or two about favorable striking points on the body. Rin's brother had once told him that a vital organ was located in the lower back, the kidneys. Rin wanted to strike in a lethal or near-lethal zone to end the fight quickly.

Rin wasn't off by much in his assessment of the orc, normally leaving its back exposed would never have happened except to lure someone into a trap. This time however, the savage was intent on running through Celebcam it seemed and it had cornered Bokwar and the elf, to the smaller orc's credit he was holding its larger bretheren at bay with a makeshift shield.

Rin's thrust is met by the yielding flesh of the orc's back, it had been a little twisted at that moment, slightly off its mark but still deserving of the beasts agonized scream. It turned to face Rin, its face contorted further by the pain of its freshly inflicted wound...blood flowed freely from the mark and Rin guessed it would eventually be fatal if untreated, but it was a long way from over.

In a long sweeping arc both blades were once again brought to bare, only Rin's quick step back saved him from a blow that would likely have severed his head from his shoulders. Instead he was lucky to get away with the large gash on his shoulder that was in response to his thrust, it hurt like hell but it wasnt going to kill him.

Rin felt the searing pain in his shoulder as the orc's blade cut his flesh. He growled in anger and pain as he instinctively jumped backwards in retreat. Rin tried to ignore the pain and concentrate on his opponent. He regripped his sword and looked up at the now injured orc.

"Weakling goblin! The small one kept you at bay with so little trouble! Is this the best an orc warrior has to offer?" Rin taunted, quickly glancing at his wound. Clearly, aggravating the brash orc's temper was the best chance Rin had. Rin was still weakened by his previous leg wound, and now by his fresh shoulder wound, and probably could not outlast his opponent even if he was wounded and bleeding quite a bit. The elf had to hope that the orc would make another mistake, a mistake that would afford Rin the oppurtunity to deal a lethal blow and end the fight.

And the orc was lost. His swings came in fiercely, but with only anger to guide them, it became almost an easy task to dodge or deflect the wild swings. It did, however, keep Rin on the deffence, for the moment, anyways. He could try to take advantage of the orc's opennings, or stay to deffence and hope to outlast the orc.

As Rin deflected another of the orc's blows, he decided to wait until the orc made such a heavy swing that a miss would cause him to lose balance, at least partially. This might leave his abdomen open to attack. Rin hoped to stab the orc between the ribs and cause as painful a wound as he could to slow the orc down. Maybe then he could get a shot at the orc's neck and end the fight. As their swords clashed, Rin laughed boldly at the orc, mocking his efforts in an attempt to keep his level of anger high. He prepared to duck under a swing at his neck, then make a thrust at the orc's midsection, but he still kept his sword in a defensive position in case the orc had other plans.

Rin did not have long to wait. Within a dozen swings Rin saw the chance he was waiting for. Enraged and off balence, the orc actually helped Rin to impale it, its forward movement forcing its body to the hilt. The blade struck bone, twisting as it came out the back. Rin's sword was now a perminant decoration in the orc's chest.
Galliban

Rin growled as he forced the blade upward into the orc's chest. He held the sword still only for a moment, anxious to act in case the orc still had enough in him to strike. The fury of battle, the darkness, and Rin's far less than expert knowledge of orkish anatomy made it very difficult to discern whether or not the blade had speared the orc's heart, and Rin definately did not want to wait to find out. He lifted his uninjured leg and kicked swiftly at the orc's ribs. His intent was to force his blade out of the orc's chest without losing his balance and attack the orc head or neck as quickly as possible. Rin would try to keep in mind that the orc still might have some fight left in him, so he would keep ready to defend himself from another blow.

From the smell welling from the wound, Rin had reason to suspect he had not only impaled the orc, but its last dinner as well. Unfortunately, the blade was stuck fast, and Rin's efforts to dislodge it did nothing but open the wound. It did, however, disprove the stomach theory, as the orc's fetid breath burst from the wound, engulfing Rin in its stench and making him lightheaded.

The orc had either decided to make things fair, or was quickly becoming too weak to hold his weapons. It dropped them to the ground, looked at Rin with vacant eyes, and grasped his head in an iron grip before he could fully recover from the stench. Its breath pumped from mouth and chest as it tried to crush the elf's tiny skull in one hand, the other hanging limp. So far Rin's head remained unbroken, but the watching orcs doubted that could last for long. If he had the time to look, he might even have seen some placing bets on it.
